25 Days of Book Boyfriends: Vlad (Night Prince)

25 Days of Book Boyfriends at Vampire Book ClubA couple weeks ago I joked on Twitter that I was in need of a book boyfriend Advent calendar. There was quite a bit of “yes, please!” from others, but no one could find a good one. Clearly, this was up to me. So, to make the chaotic holiday season a little more fun and a lot more sexy, we’re going to feature a book boyfriend every day for the next 25 days.

That’s right. Welcome to VBC’s 25 Days of Book Boyfriends.

DAY 4: VLAD
(NIGHT PRINCE)

Many of you may have met Vlad originally in Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress novels. He had a secondary role there, and certainly had a way of getting on Bones’s nerves. I wasn’t swoony for him until Jeaniene gave him his own series. In the Night Prince books—Once Burned (VBC review | Amazon), Twice Tempted (Amazon), and Bound by Flames (VBC review | Amazon)—we get to know the enigmatic man behind the Dracula legend (though don’t bring it up to him!)

Expect plenty of sparks and flames when Vlad meets his love Leila. Literally. An obstinate vampire who is a for-real prince might not know what to do with a headstrong, modern woman. Get to know the vampire behind the myth in Once Burned:

Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost (Night Prince #1)She’s a mortal with dark powers…

After a tragic accident scarred her body and destroyed her dreams, Leila never imagined that the worst was still to come: terrifying powers that let her channel electricity and learn a person’s darkest secrets through a single touch. Leila is doomed to a life of solitude…until creatures of the night kidnap her, forcing her to reach out with a telepathic distress call to the world’s most infamous vampire…

He’s the Prince of Night…

Vlad Tepesh inspired the greatest vampire legend of all—but whatever you do, don’t call him Dracula. Vlad’s ability to control fire makes him one of the most feared vampires in existence, but his enemies have found a new weapon against him—a beautiful mortal with powers to match his own. When Vlad and Leila meet, however, passion ignites between them, threatening to consume them both. It will take everything that they are to stop an enemy intent on bringing them down in flames.

I agree. I liked Vlad in the Night Huntress series (I loved seeing the animosity between him and Bones and I like his friendship with Cat), but I really didn’t swoon for him until his own spin-off.
