Book Bits: Richelle Mead, Chloe Neill, Ann Aguirre, Karen Mahoney & Christina Henry

Biting Bad by Chloe Neill (Chicagoland Vampires #8)It’s so much fun seeing what book y’all are recommending as the best book of 2012. (Many of you have named some of the ones you’ll see in my top list. You have excellent taste.) If you haven’t voted yet, you still have time! Plus, by nominating your favorite book you get entered to win any book VBC has reviewed—and that is more than 250 choices.

For those of you who have been following my Krav Maga for Writers posts, the latest one is up. It talks about sacrifices and judging assets. (And why your heroine needs to be willing to take a punch.)

An Adrian POV? Hell yes.
The third book in Richelle Mead’s Bloodlines series, The Indigo Spell, isn’t out yet. (C’mon February!) However, I already have news about book four and it’s exceptionally awesome. First, the book will be called The Fiery Heart, and Richelle assures us the title will make sense once we’ve read Indigo. Now, for the OMG awesome part: Book four will feature Adrian’s point-of-view. Yep. It’ll still be written in first person, but the chapters will alternate between Sydney’s POV and Adrian’s POV. Something tells me it will be so much fun to get inside Ivashkov’s head.

Cover Reveal: Biting Bad
Take a look at the darker cover for Biting Bad, the eighth Chicagoland Vampires novel by Chloe Neill. Not sure what I think of the updated cover model, but I’m still intrigued. Biting Bad is slated for an Aug. 6, 2013, release.

Read the First Chapter of Agave Kiss
Ready for the next Corine Solomon book? Well, Ann Aguirre has posted the first chapter of Agave Kiss on her website.

Karen Mahoney excerpt
Despite my recent gushing over Falling to Ash, this news bit is not about it being available in U.S. bookstores yet. It is, however, about the third Iron Witch book—all of which are U.S. titles! Karen has shared this delicious little excerpt with Xan talking to Donna on the phone in The Stone Demon. Also, if you’re not Team Xan, you need to pick up The Iron Witch.

Cover Reveal: Black City
I really like the cover for the latest Black Wings novel by Christina Henry. The yellow just works. Black City is set to release Feb. 26, 2013.
