BlogFest 2010: Win Vampire Babylon books 1-3

logo

BlogFest 2010We’re participating in BlogFest 2010. Readers, take heed, more than 200 book blogs are hosting giveaways through the weekend, and you best get in on the action. First, you’ll want to enter our giveaway for the first three Vampire Babylon books (details to follow). You can see all the blog participants, prizes and even enter a super grand prize contest by checking out the BlogFest HQ at A Journey of Books.

A real quick hello to those visiting our blog for the first time. Vampire Book Club, despite the name, covers most urban fantasy, paranormal romance and fantasy — both adult and YA. We’d love for you to join us in our group read of City of Bones by Cassandra Clare this month. But, if you’re just here for the contest, let’s move forward!

Chris Marie Green writes in three novel story arcs, which means you’re going to get a complete story by reading the first three books in her Vampire Babylon series. The urban fantasy series does get steamy, so paranormal romance fans will certainly enjoy. (Chris Marie Green also writes romance under the name Crystal Green.)

Not familiar with the Vampire Babylon series? Here’s what you’re getting into: old hollywood stars returning as vampires, supernatural private investigators, secret underworld filled with mystery and a heroine discovering more about her past and just who she really is.

You know…I don’t think I’d like to be one, if only because I don’t want to outlive my loved ones. But if that weren’t the case…oh yes, I’d definitely like to!

  2. Rachelle says:

Yes, I would want to be immortal so that I could read all of the books that come out after what would have been my death.

  3. Kristina Barnes says:

Yes, I’d love being immortal. I know a lot of literary vampires get depressed over being alive so long, but I’d find things to take up my interest. I’d be able to read ALL of the books I’ve ever wanted, or play all the games I want, or study in my desired field as long as I like and be able to excel at it. Plus, there’s the internet. How do immortals get bored when they can surf the internet for eternity?

  4. heatwave16 says:

I think I would want to be immortal. It would just be so interesting to see how people and the world evolve.

  5. Ren Thompson says:

I welcome the chance to be immortal. I want to see the future, thousands of years from now.

  6. Stacey Smith says:

I Would only want to be inmortal if the one I loved was a Inmortal.

  7. kristen says:

Yes, I would because I am terrified of dying

  8. Shantal Mohammed says:

Would you want to be immortal? Why or why not?

Definitely. I want to know what happens in the future – how everything turns out. I think of it like… reading a book that you love only halfway though. I want to know the ending.

  9. Thanks to Christ who is the Way, the Truth, the Life, I AM immortal

  10. Patti Akers says:

While it sounds great I don’t think I would unless those I loved were also immortal.

  11. JoAnna says:

Yes I would. Most immortals are healthy and in good shape without having to work at it. Who wouldn’t love that?

  12. Jennifer says:

Awesome giveaway. New follower. I think being immortal would be awesome. Live forever, look awesome, with no extreme worries.

  13. Cynthia R says:

only want to be immortal if my loved ones were immortal as well. it would be nice though to live long enough to see all parts of the world and experience all things

  14. Becky says:

Immortals like vampires are cool and all, but I wouldn’t want to be immortal for the sole reason that I would not want to outlive my loved ones.

  15. Yes, I would love to be immortal. I would like to see how inventions, fashions, peoples or beings thought process evolve over the time. I would be able to catch up on a lot of reading, travel the world (a few times) and not have to worry about death. Sound like a sweet deal to me. Not having to ponder over what comes after death. I’m a believer of reincarnation, so family & friends I would see again in one of their other lives. I won’t have to worry over a schedule, time or demands that life has restrict a vast majority of us to these days. Damn, Immortality sounding better and better the more I think it thought.

  16. Jennelle S says:

No way. Immortality is over rated. Lets pretend for a moment that those we love wouldn’t be dying around us (though seriously, at least some people you love would have too otherwise everyone is immortal, and then it doesn’t really seem like immortality anymore) but then there’s that whole issue that after awhile life would just become mundane, tiring, and there would be no escape. Doesn’t sound like fun. I’d rather live knowing that someday I will die and must therefore enjoy the life I’ve got.

    All that, yet I love vampires…go fig…

  17. Lisa Stovall says:

I wouldn’t mind being one. I love history so to be a part of it would be great.

  18. Anne says:

I wouldn’t want to be immortal, I don’t want to out live my loved ones.

  19. I don’t think I would like to be immortal…. out living your friends and family… getting up every morning day after day after day after day……

  29. Elizabeth Hoskins says:

I would be an immortal as long as I could always be able to have kids (who would be mortal of course) It would suck to have my loved ones die over and over, but if i could still marry new people and have a family then it wouldnt be so bad..would be like living over and over again.

  30. Maureen says:

I think I would want to be immortal because you have eternity to get everything right.

  31. Yes, I would want to be immortal for the simple reason that I want to watch over everyone I care about.

  32. Yes, I would want to be immortal for the simple reason that I want to watch over everyone I care about.

(Sorry, I guess my true email address didn’t take in previous post!)

  33. I would not want to become immortal. I would not want to stay young, and have to watch all the people I love get old and sick and die.

No I wouldn’t want to be immortal because I would have to see everyone I love die……

  35. Allison says:

I don’t think I would… Maybe if the entire world was immortal but not if it was only me or me and a few people.

  38. brizmus says:

    awesome! Thanks for the giveaway!

  39. Tawnya Mayo says:

Would I want to be immortal? Tricky question. I have so much I want to do and try, I’d love the extra time. But I suppose it could get lonely, so probably not, at least not here on Earth.

  40. Doreen R says:

Yes, I want to be immortal. I just want to stay here and see what happens…even years later.

  41. Stacy M says:

    This is a great series

  42. Shannon says:

Why would I want to be immortal? I wouldn’t. I think that the shortness of our lifespan is what makes us appreciate things. If I could have eternity on Earth… I wouldn’t value other people’s lives much because they would die and I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t care about my actions, because the people those actions effect would forget and then die. Nothing would matter much. You see it all the time in books with immortal characters- they generally overlook or disregard human life. I don’t want to be like that.

  43. MinnChica says:

I don’t think I would want to be immortal… I think I would get fed up with life at some point in time…. Not for me.

  44. I think if my loved ones were also immortal and I didn’t have to watch them die in front of me, I’d want to have at least a couple of lifetimes to do different things.

    Thanks for the great topic.

  45. elizabethcerna says:

I been wanting to read these books for a while.

  46. I don’t think I’d like to be immortal because I see the world getting worse rather than better. I also don’t want to outlive my children and grandchildren etc. Now, if they inherited my immortality that might be different and if we had the power to make a big change in the way the world was headed then yes. So for the way I am now, no. Super powers and family inherits it yes.
