Falling to Ash by Karen Mahoney
Before we get into the news, just a quick housekeeping bit. I changed my Twitter name. *gasp* So, if you’ve been following @VampBookClub, you’ll now see @ChelseaVBC popping up in your stream. Don’t worry. It’s still me. As we add more reviewers, etc., I thought it might be helpful to differentiate. Also, you can follow Candace — our new PNR reviewer — at @cpblackburn73.

Cover reveal: Falling to Ash
I’m a bit enamored with the cover art for Karen Mahoney’s upcoming book Falling to Ash. It is the first in her new Moth series (YA vampire noir!) and I love the incorporation of moths throughout the cover. Thoughts?

Chasing Magic excerpt
You read that right. While most of you are hankering for Sacrificial Magic to come out in less than two weeks. (We’ll have a review up on this Tuesday.) But Stacia Kane is already teasing us with a snippet from book five, Chasing Magic. And it’s full of Chess and Terrible goodness.

Hunter’s Rise will be final Hunters novel
Sad news from Shiloh Walker. The upcoming Hunters novel, Hunter’s Rise, will be the last in the series. Her publisher saw sales trending the wrong direction and has decided not to continue the series. You can read Shiloh’s thoughts on it and an excerpt from Hunter’s Rise on her blog.

More Iron Seas, please!
Very excited to see the cover for the latest Iron Seas book by Meljean Brook. Riveted, the third in the series, is the first to have a cover featuring both the hero and heroine. And it’s extra steampunk-y compared to the prior man candy-licious covers.

Riveted by Meljean Brook (Iron Seas #3)A century after a devastating volcanic eruption forced Iceland’s inhabitants to abandon its shores, the island has become enshrouded in legend. But the truth behind the legends is mechanical, not magical—and the mystery of the island a matter of life and death for a community of women who once spilled noble blood to secure their freedom.

Five years ago, Annika unwittingly endangered that secret, but her sister Källa took the blame and was exiled. Now Annika serves on an airship, searching for her sister and longing to return home. But that home is threatened when scientific expedition leader David Kentewess comes aboard, looking to expose Annika’s secrets. Then disaster strikes, leaving David and Annika stranded on a glacier and pursued by a madman, with their very survival depending on keeping the heat rising between them—and generating lots of steam…

New Hunger Games clip
It doesn’t matter if you’re Team Peeta, Team Gale or Team Katniss. This clip — this scene — is too good not to share. Will you be seeing The Hunger Games movie next week? I sure will be (and I’m taking Kristin from My Bookish Ways with me).
