Before we get into the book news, a giant thank you to all who have already bid in the Books Fighting Cancer charity auctions. I’ve added several new auction lots (and maybe added some extra doses of awesome to the Romance and PNR packs). You have through Saturday to bid. I encourage you to do so. All the money is going directly to the fight against brain cancer.

Now for the regular book-related news goodness…

Tidbits on next Richelle Mead novel
The Golden Lily just released, but if you’re already ready for more of Richelle Mead’s Bloodlines series. We may have a teaser. First, the third book will be called The Indigo Spell and the first two paragraphs are:

This wasn’t the first time I’d been pulled out of bed for a crucial mission. It was, however, the first time I’d been subjected to such a personal line of questioning.
“Are you a virgin?”

Start reading Once Burned NOW
If you read my early review of Jeaniene Frost’s Once Burned, you know it’s going to be a favorite. And then you were irritated that you have to wait until Tuesday to read it. Well, how about you start reading the book right now? HarperCollins has posted the first 20 percent of the novel online. Go, read and fall in love with Vlad.

The next Blood of Eden book
…will be called The Eternity Cure. I loved Julie Kagawa’s first Blood of Eden novel The Immortal Rules (VBC review), and my gut says this title is going to be dead-on. Now, if only we had cover art.

Read the prologue from Kelly Gay’s latest
Kelly Gay’s Shadows Before the Sun, her fourth novel in the Charlie Madigan series, releases on July 31. However, you can read the prologue now over at All Things Urban Fantasy.

Free Merrie Destefano Short Story
Merrie Destefano wrote the speculative fiction anthology Waiting for Midnight, which features 16 short stories. The collection is just $2.99 on Amazon, but if you need convincing, she’s posted one of the stories up on Supernatural Underground for your reading pleasure.

Thanks for the news! I’ll go read that nice 20% of Once Burned now ^_^. Also there are some issues of The Golden Lily that have the first chapter of The Indigo Spell in the back. So whenever you go to a place that has it make sure to check the books you might get lucky!

  2. Julie says:

Thanks Chelsea! I went and read the first part of Once Burned and I’m loving it already!
