Chelsea Mueller on Borrowed Souls Updates and an Urban Allies Giveaway

Chelsea Mueller, AuthorNote from VBC: This is a cross post from Chelsea’s author blog. I won’t do this too often, but as there’s been a lot of questions about when we could add the book to Goodreads, I’m going to share with you. Plus, Things are happening, y’all.

HAPPENING.

Like on the internet where people can see them.

It was a gangbusters day for Borrowed Souls yesterday. Publisher’s Marketplace, a trade publication with the publishing industry that tracks what’s being bought/sold, published the announcement of my urban fantasy Borrowed Souls. Sure, I told you about it a couple months ago, but now it’s real and official and officially real.

But then it got better. Several people have been asking when the book would be up on Goodreads and/or available for pre-order. I’d been told to expect another month’s wait, but SHAZAM the book was posted on both sites today.

Even FLOTUS is excited. HOLLA!

I highly recommend adding Borrowed Souls to your to-read list at Goodreads. That way you’ll be ready when April 4, 2017, rolls around and it’s time to dive into the world of soul renting.

If you’re feeling exceptionally kind and want to lock in that gritty, urban fantasy goodness on release day, you can pre-order Borrowed Souls at Amazon right now. Only the print edition is available for pre-order this far out, but when the e-book pre-order option becomes available, I will update everyone.

If you do pre-order, hit a girl up, because I’ll get book plates to make sure your edition can be signed—and send them your way at release time—and so I can add you to my unofficial list of the best people ever which currently includes fictional badasses like Jillian Holtzman, real-life awesome writer folk like Amanda Bonilla and Kit Rocha, and Alexander Skarsgard*, for obvious reasons.

Alexander Skarsgard - Did Someone Call Me?

Basically, today is game on for Borrowed Souls. You can add it to your TBR and know Goodreads will give you a nudge when the book releases, you can get that shit on lock down by pre-ordering, and we can all think about how much we want to be like Holtzman from Ghostbusters.

Safety lights are for dudes.

ENTER TO WIN URBAN ALLIES

…and in traditional ChelseaVBC fashion, I now give you a rad giveaway in celebration. The Urban Allies anthology just released today, and ZOMG you need it. Basically all of your (and my) favorite urban fantasy authors have teamed up to write in each other’s universes. We’re talking about Charlaine Harris & Christopher Golden, Seanan McGuire & Kelley Armstrong, Carrie Vaughn & Diana Rowland, and lots more. It’s like an epic game of what if our favorite UF characters met written by people who know. Very fun, totally engaging, and possibly yours. I have one copy of the anthology to give away to an awesome person happy to celebrate in my bookish joy who fills out the Rafflecopter form below. Open internationally, because I’m nice.

*BTW, if ASkars ends up pre-ordering Borrowed Souls, I will donate $500 to charity (his pick, but I’d suggest Doctors Without Borders or Barrow Neurological Foundation). Straight up. But he has to send me a picture of him (think: AMA verification) and proof of pre-order. He does not, though, have to promise to be my best friend or think any of my puns are funny.
