Currently Reading: Wings by Aprilynne Pike

I feel a bit behind on Wings by Aprilynne Pike. It’s a quick read, one I intended to power through on an airplane flight. However, a chatty guy in the seat next to me (husband took the window seat, natch) kept me from finishing the last 50 pages. While wrapped up in family stuff, I’m looking forward to finishing the novel tonight or tomorrow morning. I don’t read a lot of books focused on faeries, but this has some different takes including a blossom instead of wings. (Don’t let the title fool you.)

Keeping with the fae theme, I plan to follow Wings with The Iron King by Julie Kagawa. I’m super excited about delving into this one. So, next week will be Fae Week here at Vampire Book Club. Plan for reviews of both Wings and The Iron King.

Until then, post your favorite fae books. The most recent one I read before Wings was Melissa Marr’s Wicked Lovely.

Might have to check this one out. I’m really trying to venture out from the vampire thing simply because the market has become super-saturated….but not totally against vamps. Your header, for example, is awesome :o)

Oh…found you via the Hop :o)

    • I love finding the new takes on just about anything, and I’ll say that Wings included some of that. It’s definitely more “teen” in terms of dialogue tone (more akin to House of Night novels than Vampire Academy, if you know what I mean).

(I still need to add my hop post, but will pop on over to your blog this evening. Thanks for coming by!)

  3. Hi, Chelsea. I happened to discover your blog while doing The Hop. I’m glad I did. My vampire e-book was published this past February by Vamplit Publishing. See, we’re like family! Anyway, I just thought I’d say hello. Take care and good luck with the blog.
