Dear Aren,

We’ve never met but I feel like I know you and I’m certain I adore you. Don’t worry, I realize that McKenzie is the one for you and I’m content to admire you from afar. I’ve read all of your beautiful and intense words to McKenzie and they’ve just made me love you more.

The way you’ve fought tooth and nail for her has been so romantic to watch and I’ve waited with baited breath for her to realize she loved you too. How could she resist such a confident and passionate man? A man willing to challenge the king’s own sword-master for her affection? Actually, that should come as no surprise since you were willing to challenge the whole Court itself. Your willingness to fight against the Court for your people just proves your strength and your kindness toward your people shows your heart. How could a girl not fall in love?

But it’s your pursuit of McKenzie that had me swooning. You had my knees weak and wobbly when you told her:

“If I were a good man, […] I’d acknowledge that he is an honorable fae…I’d step down and let you have the man you’ve always wanted, but, McKenzie, I’m not as good as him. I never will be, and I can’t step down. I’ll fight for the chance to be with you.”

How McKenzie didn’t go running, sighing, into your arms after that statement…well…she is stronger than I am. Your sexy smiles and the intense way you stare into McKenzie’s eyes…whew! Every girl should be so lucky! I just want to tousle your messy curls and…oh…er…right…you belong to McKenzie. And I know how much you care for her because you told her:

“You told me you wanted time. I’ve given it to you, and I’ll give you as long as you need, McKenzie. I love you. […] You’re worth waiting a decade for.”
