March Group Read: Dark Lover by J.R. Ward

Vampire Book Club group readThe results of the March Group Read poll were overwhelmingly clear. You guys want to re-read Dark Lover before the release of Lover Reborn.

I get it.

This month Vampire Book Club will be re-reading the very first Black Dagger Brotherhood novel and remembering just why we fell for the vampire warriors J.R. Ward so deftly crafted. If you haven’t yet joined the BDB bandwagon, now’s the time. There is a reason this book is at the top of our paranormal romance recommended reads list.

So, readers, hit the comments and let everyone know if you’re ready to read/re-read the story of a reluctant king of vampires falling head-over-heels for a tenacious woman. (And get a heavy dose of vampire sexy times.)

Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood #1)
J.R. Ward

Published: 2005
Purchase at: Book Depository or Amazon

Dark Lover by J.R. Ward (BDB #1)In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.

The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams.

Just found you guys. I’m in. (Although I liked the second of the BDB series better.) How will I know when you have the online chat?

By the way, I don’t use twitter, so I would vote “no”, although I don’t have the seniority to influence much. 🙂

    Thanks for doing this!

I would be joining in, but in my library system there are only 2 copies. One is missing and the other is on it’s way to another library. :'( Maybe I’ll get money or giftcards and be able to buy it since my birthday is Friday. *crosses fingers*

  12. I absolutely love this book, but I don’t currently have it because I decided to share the BDB love with someone who hadn’t read them yet. Since I’ve already read it at least 3 times, I could probably still join in on the discussion though. *sigh*
