EXCERPT FROM SHADOW RITES

“Where do we stand on the ability to prevent a shooter across the street?” I asked, looking over my shoulder at the windows there, and surreptitiously watching the limo pull out of the drive and down the street. All the upper windows in the two-story building were closed, thankfully. I had been shot at recently from that vantage point, and the local law hadn’t caught him. Or her.

Eli said, “Leo’s lawyers are still in negotiations with the owner and the property management company, but the offer Leo made was too good for them to pass up. They’ll take it. And if they don’t, we’ll manage something.”

“You will not blow it up.”

“Now who’s the spoilsport?” He flashed me a slice of a grin before we stepped into the glass cage at the front door.

  2. Sharyonda says:

The series is on my tbr list but I like the strong female leads in novels that I read ans Jane fits the bill.

  3. Margot D. says:

Loved the excerpt ! Thank you for this ! Can’t wait for this book. I’m having dangerous “my precious” feelings !

  4. Pauline E. says:

Thanks for hosting the excerpt! What I like most about the Jane Yellowrock series is that imperfect people are shown as able to do the right things. That makes the inhuman (supernats) more human than usually presented.

  5. TammyM says:

I love the excerpt! Thank You for hosting this stop, and Thank You Faith for sharing! I LOVE the Jane Yellowrock series! I love that such a diverse group of people can come together in time of need!

  6. Laurie says:

I received this book as an ARC, awesome story, strong characters and word building. Love love Jane Yellowrock!

  7. Debbie says:

Can’t freakin’ wait for more Jane!

  8. Carol Gilreath says:

Faith Hunter and Jane Yellowrock are an awesome combination!

  9. Chai says:

I haven’t read the book yet (unfortunately for me I couldn’t get an ARC). The book sounds amazing except for the part where the Europeans still haven’t visited.

  10. Chai says:

My favorite thing about the series would have to be scenes with Leo. I would lose interest in the book without Leo. Sadly previous books have few Leo scenes. I love Jane, but a scene with her and Leo is always interesting.

  11. Angel Lee says:

    Absolutely love this series !

  12. JoDawn says:

❤️ This series is amazing! Love the way Jane has grown as a person. From a loner, to someone with friends and family around her. Just gets better & better!

  13. Candice says:

Loved the excerpt- can’t wait for the book!

  14. Erica W says:

Another tease!!! I cant wait to get my hands on the book and find out whats going on.

  15. Collette says:

I love these books! I can’t wait to see what’s going on!

    • Collette says:

I love how she’s gone from a loner to a “family” person. (Sorry I didn’t read the criteria well so this is a follow up to my original comment.)

  16. Larisa says:

I love how she’s evolving as a person – professionally, family-wise, and romantically. That’s a lot of challenging growth for anyone, esp in the midst of all the crises she solves/survives.

  17. This series is one of my all-time favorites! LOVE Jane/Beast!

  18. Kimberly Curington says:

My favorite thing about the series is JANE!

  19. snapdragon says:

I so enjoy the life Jane is making for herself. It has been a great thing to follow in the storyline.

  20. Stephanie F says:

I love the mix of supernaturals and personalities. There is such a variety of people and creatures that keep the series always exciting. Can’t wait for the European vamps to arrive and the mayhem that will ensue.

  21. Alisha says:

I am counting the days until the Shadow Rites release. Faith’s stories are exciting and intriguing from beginning to end … of EACH novel. And the short stories are just plain teasers but delightful all the same. Thanks for the snippet … even more of a tease. LOL.

  22. Brenda R. says:

This is my favorite series! I love how every book feels fresh, because Jane and others keep growing and there is still lots of mystery and things that we don’t know.

I love the dynamic between Jane and Beast. Beast is not an animal to be conquered and controlled. She has legitimate needs and feelings that Jane must honor and skills and resources that make Jane stronger. Unfortunately, in some books we don’t see enough of Beast in the alpha form, but she is still there.

I also love Jane’s self-made family and her sense of loyalty and protectiveness.

  23. Liz S says:

I love Jane’s development personally and with Beast and the relationships with her chosen family. This is a terrific series.

  24. Cara Scott HaveBook WillSurvive says:

I love this series!!!! My all time fav!!!!

  25. Vicki W says:

I love this series. My favorite part has been the partnering of Jane and the Younger brothers and of course Jane and Bruiser.

  26. Grannie_4_7 says:

I’ve not read any in this series yet, but it sounds good. Would you recommend reading in order, or can the books be read as stand-alones?

    • Kat L. says:

Some of the books can be read as stand-alones, however,I would recommend reading the very first book in the series to get an idea of who the main players are before skipping around from book to book.

  27. Dee Feagin says:

I’m enjoying Jane’s growth into herself and the ongoing give and take of being in the same body as Beast. She’s tough, she’s vulnerable, she’s moral. I want to see more of Jane and Bruiser; Rick LeFleur wasn’t strong enough for her. Her friendships with the Younger brothers and others show her as a person that has the capability to care deeply. I hope this series continues on for a long time.

  28. BookLady says:

I have not yet read the Jane Yellowrock series, but after reading these comments I have moved this series to the top of my wishlist.

  29. Penny Olson says:

I had not heard of this series, so thanks for the post! Looks great!

  30. erinf1 says:

I love how much Jane and “Beast” have grown and changed. Thanks for sharing!

  31. Diane N says:

Sounds like Jane is spoiling Eli’s fun by stopping him from blowing something up. Can’t wait.

  32. Linda Alcorn-Burg says:

I can’t wait. Just a few more days to go.

  33. Nivea says:

I love how tough and strong Jane Yellowrock is. So very kickasss.

  34. Eva Millien says:

I love Jane Yellowrock and how she handles herself with whatever gets thrown her way.

  35. Janet says:

    I love Eli’s practical streak 🙂

  36. Melodie Luckett says:

    Oh I can’t wait…. All these teases…. Love it!!!

  37. Thanks for another great excerpt.

  38. Mandy says:

The JY series is on my auto buy list — can’t wait for Jane and company’s next adventure!!!

  39. Janie McGaugh says:

My favorite thing is the way she cares about other people and builds relationships with them.

  40. Kat L. says:

I love Jane because despite her Skinwalker heritage she is still very much a human being with the same ‘insecurities’as any other woman who’s been through foster care, and fought to find her way in the world.
The books all combine suspense and a wry humor that keep them entertaining and keep me coming back for more!

  41. Sarah says:

I like Jane’s kickass attitude and very centered, strong self. I also love the cast of characters around Jane, and that the books are never without humor, no matter how suspenseful or (sometimes) grim things look!

  42. bn100 says:

never read it; maybe the character

  43. Sarah says:

I’ve heard so much about this character and after reading the comments I know I have to add this series to my TBR. Thanks for chance of giveaway!!!

    Sounds great
    Thanks for the chance
