What’s your ultimate escape book or series and why?
My ultimate escape series is the Joe Ledger series by Jonathan Maberry (Patient Zero, The Dragon Factory, The King of Plagues). Joe Ledger is my ultimate hero. He’s got skillz, brains, compassion, and humanity, all wrapped up in a handsome package. Not to mention the books are amazing; a genre-hopping combo of adventure, thriller, espionage, horror, and a little bit of the otherworldly thrown in. What more could you want?
Read Kristin’s reviews of Patient Zero, The Dragon Factory, The King of Plagues at My Bookish Ways.

What’s your ultimate escape book or series and why?
My ultimate escape series is The Black Dagger Brotherhood. I know it is not original and comes as no surprise, but that really is my honest answer. The brothers have great romance and make me laugh. I love how we continue to see developments with each couple in future books. I could reread these books every year and it never gets old. When I read them, I forget to do the laundry and clean the bathrooms. If that is not an escape, I don’t know what is 😉
Read Mandi’s collection of J.R. Ward tidbits at Smexy Books. (Yes, she’s on top of the Brotherhood at all times. Vigilant, even.)
[Ed. note: When we read BDB books, we forget about all chores and sometimes dinner. Addictive series for sure!]

What’s your ultimate escape book or series and why?
The Downside Ghosts series [by Stacia Kane]. I love the grit of this world. It’s edgy and scary and takes me far away from real life…just what and escape book should do.
Read Synde’s post on the Denizens of Downside over at Tombstone Tails.
The Black Dagger Brotherhood! I have read that series multiple times (except the last book…sadly I’ve only read that one once) and yes, it definitely deserves the ‘escape’ label. 🙂
You rock, C. Thank you SO much for the feature!
I’m huge into Downside series too! Fun books! 🙂 Thanks for having me!
Totally down with the Brothers, as well as Chess and crew! I REALLY want to read the Joe Ledger series!! Great stuff!!
