Note: While this review will be spoiler free, it does reference events from past books in the series. If you haven’t started yet, check out VBC’s review of book one Dragon Bound.

I begin this review with a public service warning, if there any readers who have a nut allergy you may want to pass on this novella; as it is very “Peanut” heavy. I now apologize for the corny joke, I just couldn’t resist.

Dragos Takes a Holiday begins with Pia successfully manipulating her overworked mate into a taking a short vacation/treasure hunting expedition. Luckily for the readers their long weekend is filled with pirates and various hijinks, mostly by their precocious son Liam.

I loved this novella and the small peek back into Dragos and Pia’s home life. I probably had a stupid grin on my face the entire time I was reading it. I have a smile just thinking about the trouble that Liam gets into and his baby logic reasoning.

“Daddy had said No, but that happened quite a while ago. Surely by now No had turned into a Yes. In fact, he was all but certain of it. He was a very helpful peanut.”

Liam can’t even talk or walk yet but he certainly is his parent’s child. He gets into trouble with the most innocent of intentions and I can’t wait to see what catastrophes he stumbles into as he grows up.

The family moments between Pia, Dragos and Liam are the most interesting moments. Not that the sex scenes weren’t scorching hot, but there was also the deep relationship which was created between these characters. It was evident with every line that the characters are devoted to each other and their love for each other is only matched by their love for their child.

I loved Dragos Takes a Holiday and my only critique is that I want more! More Peanut (aka Liam) hijinks, more Pia and definitely more Dragos. I love, love, love this series!

Sexual content: Some scorching beach sex.
