The VBC Group Read went on hiatus in June. We’re revamping the process a bit. Several months ago several readers asked us to move the group read chat off Twitter and over to Goodreads. This just didn’t work.
To make the most of the group read, the VBC associate reviewers (Candace and Jo) will be helping me out now. We’ll have weekly discussion questions over at the VBC Goodreads’...
Need some great young adult urban fantasy and paranormal romance? This prize pack has some favorites of mine, and the authors were kind enough to sign many of the books in this prize pack. And we have audio books up for grabs in this pack, too!
Highest bidder will take home:
Signed set of the first three Mythos Academy novels by Jennifer Estep: Touch of Frost, Kiss of Frost and Dark Frost
Signed hardback...
We’re planning to spend Thursday chatting up Kendare Blake’s Anna Dressed in Blood in our Goodreads group. But in the meantime, we need to select the group read title for January. (I know this is a bit late, but I’ve been traveling most of December. Don’t worry, I’m back at VBC HQ in Dallas again.)
We have six stellar titles to pick from for the January read. Let us know which...
Damned (Crusade #2)
Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguié
Published: Aug. 30, 2011 (Simon & Schuster)
Purchase at: Book Depository, Damned or Amazon
Rating (out of 5): 3.5 stars
After reading Crusade, I was curious if we were going to get to know Skye better. She’s the witch who fights alongside the hunters — the only witch willing to step across that line and officially align herself with the...
There were so many great new releases this week, my head is still spinning. I pre-ordered Andrea Cremer’s Wolfsbane, so that’s my current read, but all the excerpts in today’s Book Bits already have me ready to order more. Dive in, and prepare to add to that TBR list.
Taste of Succubus Revealed
The Georgina Kincaid series almost over, and I’m not sure if I’m excited or nervous...
After reading Crusade, co-authors Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguié’s first title in a new young adult vampire series, we had questions. They created an impressive world. And if you read our review you’ll remember we were floored at how eerily real the vampires “coming out” event occurred.
Luckily the ladies were willing to fill us in on the new series, the shocking parts of the book,...
Crusade (Crusade #1)
Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguié
Published: Sept. 7, 2010
Purchase at: Book Depository or Amazon
Rating (out of 5): 3.5 stars
Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguié’s portrayal of vampires, or Cursed Ones, in their new series opener Crusade feels eerily accurate. Do I know what it would be like if vampires made themselves known? Of course not. This isn’t the same take one finds...
With so many great releases for September, I’m already feeling behind. A headache coupled with a stomach bug wracked your lovely Vampire Book Club blogger at the end of last week, and that meant nearly three days without reading.
Things are looking up now. We’re feeling much better and devouring Crusade, the opener to a new vampire series from Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguié (read our Waiting...
Those who have read the writing duo’s Wicked series know Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguié have a knack for both romantic and life-threatening tension. While I wasn’t in love with the ending of the final Wicked book, Resurrection, I really enjoyed the series as a whole and am thoroughly looking forward to what these two have come up with next.
Hitting shelves on Sept. 7, Crusade is the first of a...
