Review: Lure of the Wicked by Karina Cooper (Dark Mission #2)

Each time I read a Karina Cooper novel, I’m struck by the beautiful, precise and visceral writing. The visuals are striking, the emotions intense and the characters unerringly real. Basically, it’s impossible not to get sucked into the Dark Mission novels.

Early Review: Heart of Darkness by Lauren Dane

This book has a great hero/heroine dynamic. My article at H&H mostly covers how this book about witches is perfect for paranormal romance readers who love shifters. There’s plenty of “mine” action, but with big twists. Once I started Heart of Darkness, I was addicted. It was unputdownable. . . . → Click here to continue reading Early Review: Heart of Darkness by Lauren Dane

Review: The Renfield Syndrome by J.A. Saare (Rhiannon’s Law #2)

Review: The Taker by Alma Katsu

Elements of magic, alchemy and immortality are at play in The Taker, but at its core it’s the story of a girl who learned too late that you can’t make someone love you back. Lanny’s tale is entrancing. At times this book reads much more like a historical than a paranormal, but I sank into this book. Prepare to be attached to every character, and have conflicting emotions about them all — especially Lanny, Adair and Jonathan. Love them. Hate them. Pity them. . . . → Click here to continue reading Review: The Taker by Alma Katsu

Release-Day Review: If I Die by Rachel Vincent (Soul Screamers #5)

If I Die is the heaviest book to date in the Soul Screamers series; it’s also the best. Vincent kept me on edge and constantly muttering “no way” as she threw twist after twist at me. She’s pushed the series in a new direction that will certainly breath life into future books. I’m so ready for more. . . . → Click here to continue reading Release-Day Review: If I Die by Rachel Vincent (Soul Screamers #5)
