I like Rachel Caine’s world-building and the way she loves to make things very difficult for her characters. That isn’t going to stop with the ninth book in her Morganville Vampires series Ghost Town.
When I talked with Caine a few weeks ago she told me how excited she was for this release. She’s been releasing books for nearly 20 years, but this is her first hardcover. Pretty awesome. (And about time, right?)
Penguin Teen publishes the Morganville series and they recently posted a video of Caine talking Ghost Town with Vlad Tod series author Heather Brewer. Watch and tell us, are you ready for more Claire, Myrnin and the rest of the gang?
Official synopsis for Ghost Town is after the jump, but we suggest you put it on your list to buy when it releases on Oct. 26. (Pre-order at 25% off from the Book Depository.)
While developing a new system to maintain Morganville’s defenses, student Claire Danvers discovers a way to amplify vampire mental powers. Through this, she’s able to re-establish the field around this vampire-infested Texas college town that protects it from outsiders.
But the new upgrades have an unexpected consequence: people inside the town begin to slowly forget who they are-even the vampires. Soon, the town’s little memory problem has turned into a full-on epidemic. Now Claire needs to figure out a way to pull the plug on her experiment- before she forgets how to save Morganville…
Whoohoo it sounds so awesome!
i need to catch up with this series!
Haven’t read Rachel’s YA series yet, love her Weather Wardens and Outcast Season though.
