This is the sixth (ed. note: DAMN!) Alpha Showdown. It’s been one of our favorite events, and every year proves to be a great way for fans to celebrate their favorite characters and help others discover their new favorite book boyfriend or bestie.
Speaking of besties, we have five phenomenal female alphas in the bracket this year, including Jane Yellowrock who had the most nominations. That’s right, Jane’s seated at No. 1. Can the others beat her? We have fresh blood this year like Naasir from Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series and all-time favorites like Barrons (Karen Marie Moning) and Bones (Jeaniene Frost).
Like last year, each battle will be open for two days, and we will leverage Rafflecopter for each poll. There’s a downside to this in that you won’t see real-time results (but watch @ChelseaVBC on Twitter for updates!), but two upsides. First, there will be giveaways and free books are awesome. Second, it alleviates the issues in previous years of people spamming the votes and causing some hard feelings between fandoms. We want this to continue to be a fun event for everyone. We continue to look for other great options here, and feel free to ping us with ideas.

Hmmm some interesting battles in first week. Kate Daniels may have a tough time with Naasir since I bet he will be a ladies favorite for a upset. It is good to see Simon Wolfgard make the list interesting to see how he does against Vlad. To bad Adam is not fighting Mercy LOL.
