It was a close call in this month’s group read poll, but Andrea Cremer’s Nightshade claimed the title with 29 percent of the votes. (Cynthia Hand’s Unearthly was a near second at 27 percent.) We are incredibly excited you guys are ready to read Nightshade, because we love this book. We tapped it as one of our Best Books of 2010. We talked Cremer into telling us about writing a sexy book without any sex (a.k.a. romantic restraint).
This means a few things. One, you can read a spoiler-free review of Nightshade right now. Two, we like to talk about the unique love triangle and pressures placed on heroine Calla. Three, we can promise a fun group read chat.
We hope you’ll pick up Nightshade and join us in reading the book this month. We’ll plan a chat on Twitter for the end of the month. Details posted about a week in advance of the chat. Here’s the full skinny on how our group read works.

Calla Tor has always known her destiny:
After graduating from the Mountain School, she’ll be the mate of sexy alpha wolf Ren Laroche and fight with him, side by side, ruling their pack and guarding sacred sites for the Keepers.
But when she violates her masters’ laws by saving a beautiful human boy out for a hike, Calla begins to question her fate, her existence, and the very essence of the world she has known. By following her heart, she might lose everything – including her own life.
Is forbidden love worth the ultimate sacrifice?
