I’m very excited to have Chloe Neill on the blog today. The novella Howling for You releases today,
and I’m very excited to be getting a bigger dose of Jeff Christopher. Chloe was game to tell us more about it, indulge my questions and even offer up a great giveaway at the end of the post.
Chloe Neill: Hi, everyone! I’m so thrilled about today’s release of Howling for You. I love Jeff, and I adore this story!
Chelsea/VBC: What makes Jeff Christopher work as a leading man? Are we going to love him even more now?
Chloe Neill: You will love him more than ever! Jeff has that really intriguing mix of intelligence, goofiness, and utter loyalty. He plays snarky and sarcastic a lot of the time, but he knows how to stand up and protect those he loves. And he really gets the opportunity to show that here.
Chelsea/VBC: I’ve always like the glimpses of Fallon we’ve seen in the Chicagoland Vampires books, but I don’t know her well. What can we expect from her?
Chloe Neill: She was a bit of a mystery to me, too! This is only the second time I’ve written a CV story that’s not from Merit’s perspective. (High Stakes, the Luc/Lindsey short story from the Kicking It anthology, is the other one.)
Fallon is brave, and much less likely to question her steps than Merit is. But she’s also very hemmed in by the expectations of her older brother and her Pack. Being second in line for the throne puts a lot of pressure on a girl, romantically and otherwise.
Chelsea/VBC: How did it feel writing something in the Chicagoland world without vampires as the lead? Getting any shifter inclinations?
Chloe Neill: It was a little odd, but really cool. The vampires, obviously, are really concerned about politics. The shifters care about results, which creates a very different dynamic. It was a fun change of pace.
Chelsea/VBC: Where does Howling for You fit in the Chicagoland Vampires timeline?
Chloe Neill: It fits exactly in its publication place–between Biting Bad and Wild Things. So you don’t want to miss Howling before the February 4 Wild Things release. Also, Howling includes an exclusive preview of Wild Things (the full second chapter), so Howling readers will get that a full month ahead of time!
Chelsea/VBC: I’m super excited for Wild Things. (I might be missing a certain green-eyed master vampire.) Care to give us a tease?
Chloe Neill: Can I just say “prophecy”? I think CV fans will really appreciate the good, solid discussion of that one. 🙂
Merit; I enjoy the comic relief of the food scenes. 🙂
Merit of course!
I’m Team Jonah. (And afraid I may be the only one with all the Sullivan swoonage going on.)
Jonah is ABSOLUTELY swoon-worthy. Not saying I’m giving up on that green-eyed master vampire, but let’s not discount the appeal of Jonah.
Merit is the obvious choice, but I also enjoy most of the characters in the books. I think they are all an integral part of the series.
I just really enjoy the whole series, but if I had to pick one character it would probably be Jonah.
Love the chicagoland vampire books. Merit is one of my favorite heroines.
Catcher is my favorite character. Can’t explain it, maybe is the gruff exterior and his love for LifeTime movies.
Since I just finished the Luc and Lindsey story in Kicking It, they are favorites!
I have to say i have a thing for Jeff 🙂
I haven’t started the series…yet…but what better time to start?! I know they’re good, though. My bestie won’t stop talking about them.
I have a crush on Catcher 😉 but my favorite character is Methan lol I like the merit Ethan characters when they are with each other best 😉
So excited for these books!
Merit! Thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite is:Jonah
Merit, of course, but Jeff has a soft spot in my heart. Thanks for the giveaway.
I’ve not read these books so I don’t have a favorite… yet…
Ooh, tough to pick just one. She writes such amazing characters that you can’t help but fall for. I do though have soft spots for Gabriel, Jeff and Jonah. Love those three hotties. 🙂
Love this series! My favorite character is Merit. Thanks for the great giveaway.
Methan! Can’t have one without the other!
I like the big boss, Ethan Sullivan.
Merit, Ethan and Jonah are my favs!
Merit is my pick
Merit
Merit is my favorite because…you know…LIBRARY!
I love a good library and who can not love someone who feels the same way?
Ethan- He’s been my fantasy husband since book 1
Merit is my favorite, although there are lots of great characters in the stories.
Always looking for another good series to read!
I love Merit because she is a badass.
Merit is also my favorite character.
Besides Merit who is a total badass I love Ethan with Jeff coming in a close second. He’s just so darn cute but can be strong and powerful when needed.
Merit…a lover of books and libraries…who can resist that??
Merit is my fav! 🙂
Ethan! He gives me the warm fuzzies
Thank you SO much!
