Love Letter to Rehvenge (J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series)

We couldn’t let a Character Love Letters event go by without talking about at least one character of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward. While Zsadist still tops my list, Rehvenge is a close second. Though, based on the steamy letter below, Tori from Smexy Books may be just the girl to woo the vampire.

Do you swoon for Rehv?My darling Rehv,

When I first saw you at Zero Sum, your image burned itself into my brain from the top of your glorious mohawk down to your Gucci loafers. I caressed your broad shoulders with my eyes as my hands clenched to do the same. It was all I could do not to strip you right there in the club and use my tongue to memorize every single inch of your body. In the span of a minute, I imagined every possible way you would take me. No surface was left untouched when my mind finally achieved a cerebral orgasm. I left after that, unable to keep my thoughts or my body under control.

For weeks, I came to the club, hoping for a small glimpse of you. My body so in tune to your smell that I could sense you the moment I walked through the door. You looked at me once and I thought I would faint when your eyes locked with mine. You walked towards me, intent written upon your face. In a single look you stripped me of every bit of information I possessed.  I stopped breathing, waiting in both fear and anticipation for your attention. But you were called away at the last moment, only stopping to blow me a small kiss and mouth the words, “Later.”

Every day and night since, my thoughts and dreams were consumed with nothing but you. I neither eat nor sleep. Your smile is my water and your touch is my food. I see you nude in my bed, commanding me with your beautiful amethyst eyes and deep voice. I imagine the feel of your fangs in my neck, the pull of your sucking. I scream your name over and over till I’m hoarse and no longer able to make a sound. Then we begin again.  And again. You are the master and I am yours to control, to command, to use. I deny you nothing and give you everything. I only exist for you. When you finally gift me with your release and your barb engages, I feel like the world is being reborn and I am at its center. Light flashes behind my eyes and I lose my grip on reality. I am dying la petit mort.

Sadly, later never came for us. I know that you are now happily married to your beautiful shellan, Elena. I know she and she alone holds your heart, your soul.  I am not jealous. I do not covet what she has. What I have with you could never transcend into the physical realm. My love, adoration, and obsession will continue to stay safe in the shadows; only visible to me. I will hold you close in my dreams and that satisfies me.
