Our Holiday Haul

If I ever needed proof my family knows I read a lot of paranormal and fantasy books, the gifts I opened on Christmas Day covered it. Nine books from five different people. See for yourself:

Vampire Book Club's holiday book haul

(Not pictured was book No. 9, a gluten-free cookbook. Unrelated, I made the most awesome peanut butter chocolate chip cookies this weekend and some damn good gluten-free pumpkin muffins. Very proud of this.)

For those who don’t care to fight the crappy lighting to read the titles in the picture above, books by Lilith Saintcrow (both YA and adult), Richelle Mead, Brenna Yovanoff and Chloe Neill along with the first three Song of Ice and Fire novels by George R.R. Martin were under the tree. (Side note: anyone else interested in doing a little read-along for Game of Thrones in preparation for the HBO series?)

Now that I’ve lorded my little book haul over you, tell me — did you bring home any excellent novels? Are you adjusting your to-read piles?

One more thing: If you missed it, we’re giving one reader any book from our Winter Book Preview. All the details on entering are at the end of our Character Christmas Wishlist post.

Oh My You got a good bundle of books this year. I read Some Girls Bite and the other 2 Chicagoland Vampire books by Chloe Neill about 2 weeks ago. I loved reading about Merit. I hope you do as well. So did you have to drop hints for all the books you wanted or did your family pick them? With all your new books I wish you happy reading and many adventures 🙂

  5. @Natasha and Aylee — We’re actually going to be doing a joint book discussion of SOME GIRLS BITE with The Spinecracker on Jan. 2. Details posted soon, but you should totally join in. Jessica from The Spinecracker has already finished the book and said it’s amazing.

Some of the books were hinted about. Heh.

That is a great haul of books I have The Replacement on my tbr pile. I got a lot of YA novels from my family such as, books 2 and 4 in the Vampire Academy Series, The Search for the Red Dragon, The Indigo King both signed by James Owen (my mom is the best), The Iron Daughter, Beautiful Darkness, and The Wizard Heir. My best friend also took me shopping and just told me to pick out some books so from him I got Crave by JR Ward and Midnight Awakening by Lara Adrian.
