From Chelsea/ VBC: We know you love sexy shifters. Today we’re pleased to turn the blog over to author Sharon Ashwood. She writes some great shifter romance.
She’s going to give you the skinny on her upcoming release Possessed by a Wolf (yes, please). The novel releases on Friday, and you can pre-order here. We also have an awesome signed book giveaway at the end of the post. Let’s turn it over to Sharon and talk about the latest Horsemen hero Faran.
It’s not easy to be Faran Kenyon, the hero of Possessed by a Wolf. Sure, he’s one of the elite supernatural agents known as the Horsemen, known for cool spy weaponry and international derring-do—but as the only werewolf among a bunch of vampires, he has to prove a mortal can be as tough as the undead. Then, when the enemy finds a way to shut the vampires down, it’s up to Faran to save the day.
Of course, he’s used to being a solo operator. He’s an orphan with a history of trouble and a wolf without a pack. But rather than becoming an angry loner, he’s charming and full of mischief—a blond Viking of a man who knows how to appreciate women as well as pleasure them. But as a lethal Horseman, he lives on the edge of danger. True vulnerability is not an option.
Or at least—it’s not supposed to be. There was an affair in Paris with the photographer, Lexie Haven. She broke it off and broke his heart, but here she is again in the thick of trouble when a heist takes place at a Royal Wedding. He’s not eager to put his heart on the line a second time, and she’s just as wary of his wolf. But hunting’s in his nature, and the chase is inevitable. Once Lexie is nearby, Faran can’t resist the temptation to touch her.
That doesn’t mean things go according to plan:
He moved so fast she never saw it. All at once, his hands were on her arms, pulling her close until their bodies all but touched. Werewolves ran hot, their body temperatures a degree or two above humans’. A long line of heat vibrated between them, tantalizing Lexie through the silk of her tunic and slacks.
She didn’t like being trapped in his grip. It was far too unexpected and intimate for comfort, putting him in control in a way that sent every alarm bell ringing. She squirmed, but his fingers were like iron.
Faran looked down into her face, his human eyes as impassive as the wolf’s had been. She could almost touch his resentment. He wore it like a scar over the hurt she’d left behind. “This was all I wanted. To be close to you, even with you knowing what I am. I thought maybe you could eventually get past the wolf.”
Lexie’s hands found his chest. It was familiar territory, bringing back a flood of sensory reminders. Suddenly she felt flushed and aching with memory. Her first thought was to push him away, but the crack in his voice stopped her. Her heart was pounding so fast she became breathless, her face nearly numb. “I’m sorry.”
Her hands slid down his shirt, feeling the quivering muscle beneath. He was holding himself in check so hard, it felt as if he might explode. Her fingers became clumsy, unequal to whatever it was she was trying to do. Comfort? Fend off? She’d lost all sense of direction.
And then her hand found hot, sticky wetness. She gasped. “Faran, you’re bleeding.”
He exhaled, his breath warm against her cheek. “That wasn’t what you said in my fantasy of this moment.”
Sharon Ashwood is a novelist, desk jockey and enthusiast for the weird and spooky. She has an English literature degree but works as a finance geek. Interests include growing her to-be-read pile and playing with the toy graveyard on her desk. As a vegetarian, she freely admits the whole vampire/werewolf lifestyle would never work out, so she writes her adventures instead.
Sharon is the winner of the RITA® Award for Paranormal Romance. She lives in the Pacific Northwest and is owned by the Demon Lord of Kitty Badness.

Count me in please! This is my genre…reality is highly overrated. For instance, I’m holding a paper towel on the cut bleeding down my arm while I finish my entry! It can wait and I don’t want to forget to do this.
Good luck all…take care!
Thanks for the giveaway! I love The Dark Forgotten, and this series sounds good, too.
