A couple weeks ago I joked on Twitter that I was in need of a book boyfriend Advent calendar. There was quite a bit of “yes, please!” from others, but no one could find a good one. Thorn from Donna Grant’s Dark Kings series caught out attention in Soul Scorched (VBC review | Amazon), and we dived into his story in Passion Ignites (VBC review | Amazon) with gusto. He lived up to the hype. A complex character with focus on his mission of fighting the Dark, but can slip into caring mode in a heartbeat. At one point heroine Lexi falls ill and Thorn takes care of her without ever taking advantage of the compromised situation. It takes these two a little longer to move past wistful looks, but the slow burn is worth it.
