Today’s match will determine the second alpha to enter the final round. These characters are just a fight away from the championship match. So, clearly, they’re badasses.
Kaleb from Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling series took out not one, but two vampires to make it to this round. The Beast Lord Curran from Ilona Andrews’ Kate Daniels series easily beat Simon in the first round, but had to fight hard to top Barrons.

Kaleb Krycheck doesn’t give a f**k about anyone but Sahara. This is the reason he will destroy all of his competition. As a child, he was torn away from his home and placed into the hands of an extremely evil man. This man invaded his mind and tore him to shreds.
“Tell me you aren’t evil.” Please.
Kaleb’s thumbs moved against he temples. “I’m sorry.”
Shaking her head in a mute refusal to accept what he was trying to tell her, she lifted trembling fingers to his jaw. “What have you done?”
“Too much that can never be undone.”
See? Kaleb has already done every horrible deed that could ever be done. Curran? HA! Kaleb could fight him with his big toe. All of Kaleb’s power is in his mind. With just a thought, Curran is a goner. In fact, Kaleb could be in bed with his woman, giving her her fifth orgasm, and STILL out-fight Curran at the same time.
And if we are having a battle of who can please their heroine more, let me give you this example during sex:
“I just checked the PsyNet,” she said, her own breathing not exactly even. “This region just experienced a medium-sized earthquake.”
Kaleb turned his head on the pillow. “It was located deep underground, I made sure of that. No real damage.”
“So we literally made the earth move?” A slight pause, before Kaleb said, “I suggest we don’t engage in sex in populated areas.”
Talk about rocking your girl’s world!!!!

At this point, it seems laughable that I have to write about Curran’s qualifications as biggest alpha in the G-D Supernatural Fantasy Universe. Does this former winner and multiple nominee need more than “It’s Curran, whose roar soils the undies of every adversary?”
All right, perhaps you require more convincing. This is the badass that united all of the shifters in magic-torn Atlanta into a Pack so strong the other biggest badass in this world sees Curran as a threat to be removed. He’s ripped the heads off gods, gone claw to claw with rogue vampires, and attended more boring meetings and weddings than a person should have to bear. His roar makes the primitive part of your brain scream “Run away!” even though you know by the time he’s seen you, it’s too late.
Being an alpha is so much more than the ability to rip your opponent to shreds in a nanosecond. There is the sense of responsibility to others, reputation for action, a commanding presence that makes everyone ask “how high” when he says “jump.” We’ve seen Curran’s protective nature spread from his Pack to his new family with Kate, and on to the whole city of Atlanta. That’s right, his alpha-ness is growing as the series progresses and he does it all without being a raging douchecanoe.

Curran! Heck…what he gave up for Kate says it all!
The way I read it, Curran was was not unhappy to leave the Pack for Kate. Like he said, when he was unconscious the Pack immediately went into replacement mode. While he may miss some parts of being in charge, the bureaucracy made him roar. I think Kate made the bigger sacrifice to be consort. But I’m sure he’ll still be very involved.
Hardest decision who to vote for ever. I love both of these alpha males :/
It was so hard to choose…but I went with Curran!
Kurran is amazing and if he was up against almost anyone else he should win, but Caleb is one of the most alpha males ever! Caleb should totally win this one. He is so dark and broody and intense.
