After taking your suggestions and turning the poll over to the awesome VBC readers, we have an August group read. Prepare to rush to your local bookseller to buy Biting Cold by Chloe Neill (or just pre-order like the cool kids).
This is the first time we’ve had a group read that comes out the month we’re reading it. That speaks to just how excited VBC readers are to find out if Merit and Ethan can come back. Biting Cold is the sixth Chicagoland Vampires novel and releases this coming Tuesday, Aug. 3.
We will have weekly discussion questions up at our Goodreads group, and we’ll try to tier things so it won’t be spoiler-palooza the first week. Sound good?
Also, for those of you who haven’t started this series. Jump over to our review of Some Girls Bite.
So good.

Turned into a vampire against her will, twenty-eight-year-old Merit found her way into the dark circle of Chicago’s vampire underground, where she learned there was more to supernaturals than met the eye—and more supernaturals than the public ever imagined. And not all the secrets she learned were for sharing—among humans or inhumans.
Now Merit is on the hunt, charging across the stark American Midwest, tailing a rogue supernatural intent on stealing an ancient artifact that could unleash catastrophic evil on the world. But Merit is also the prey. An enemy of Chicagoland is hunting her, and he’ll stop at nothing to get the book for himself. No mercy allowed. No rules apply. No lives spared. The race is on.
