Before we jump into newsy goodness, a quick reminder that there is still time to nominate your favorite characters for the 2012 Alpha Showdown. Also, I have no problem with you rallying for your favorite characters and encouraging others to vote for them. The top 16 alphas with the most nominations make the bracket. So, you know, hustle.

The sexy is locked up for Lord’s Fall
Thea Harrison shared the cover art for her next Elder Races novel Lord’s Fall and it appears they decided to lock up the hotness. This book, which releases Nov. 6, will have a step-back. You’ll have to move a die cut cover of bars to get to the bare-chested goodness below. Sometimes we have to lock down that kind of man candy, I suppose. I’m posting the cover, next to the book blurb below, but if you want to see the non-locked-up man head to Thea’s blog.

Lord's Fall by Thea HarrisonIn the latest Novel of the Elder Races, two mates find themselves on different paths, torn between their duty to the Wyr and the passion that binds them…

Before she met Dragos, half-human half-wyr Pia Giovanni was alone and on the run. Now, she’s mated, pregnant and heading south to repair the Wyr’s frayed relationship with the Elves. Being separated from Dragos is painful, but for the good of the Wyr demesne they need to figure out how to be partners, in more places than just the bedroom.

In New York to preside over the Sentinel Games, Dragos is worried about his mate, but knows that finding two replacement sentinels is essential to show the rest of the Elder Races just how strong and brutal the Wyr demesne can be. But as the games heat up, Pia’s negotiations with the Elves take a turn for the dangerous, straining her bond with Dragos and threatening everything they hold dear…

Another peek at The Ripple Effect
J.A. Saare posted another excerpt from the third Rhiannon’s Law book The Ripple Effect on her blog, and this time we’re meeting a new guy. Don’t worry, readers, she’s promised me that Bane is not a love interest for Rhi. At all. Still, he certainly piqued my interest. Also, Rhi is buying guns!

Excerpt from the next Jenna Black book
Jenna Black posted a snippet from Deadly Descendant, the Nikki Glass book hitting shelves on April 24, over on Deadline Dames. This time Nikki is hunting a death god-turned-serial killer. Click over, read the excerpt, come back and tell me how much you love Nikki.

Need a de La Vega Cats fix?
Beneath the Skin, Lauren Dane’s third de La Vega Cats novel, hits e-readers on April 3, but she’s posted another nice excerpt from the book on her blog in the meantime. Those who love shifter-themed romance and alpha males may want to check out de La Vega Cats.

Summoning the Night book trailer
I finally read Kindling the Moon and loved it. Now it’s almost time for the sequel to come out, and this book trailer for Jenn Bennett’s Summoning the Night just makes me want to read it all the sooner. Plus, Jupe would love this.
