I finally was able to meet Cynthia Eden last weekend at the Olde City, New Blood mini-convention. She’s delightful, and her love for paranormal romance—especially the alpha nature that is often inherent with vampires—was obvious. If you haven’t tried her The Fallen series yet (vampires and fallen angels), I suggest it. Read my review of Angel of Darkness for possible convincing.
Or, better yet, take a peek at this Valentine’s Day message from Az, the hero of Cynthia’s latest Angel in Chains, to his mortal love Jade. We’ll also have a giveaway for the book at the end of the post.
My dearest Jade…
For centuries, I’ve watched humans and seen them celebrate the day called Valentine’s. Giving a heart to the one you love…it seems barbaric, but if that is the tradition of the day…
Then know that I would cut out my heart for you in an instant. If you whispered the words, I’d do anything for you.
My life didn’t begin until I found you in that alley. Surrounded by shifters, you should have been scared to death. Instead, you were fighting so bravely. And when you first saw me, an ex-Death Angel broken beyond repair—oh, my love, you should have run then. Run from me, not to me.
But you did run to me. You gave me your trust. You taught me what it was to want someone.
Pleasure. Pain. Lust. Need. I learned it all from you.
Give my heart to you on Valentine’s? It seems pointless. You already have my heart. You know it. It’s right there, cradled in the palm of your deceptively delicate hand. I’d kill a dozen shifters to prove my love to you. Actually, I have done that, and I’d do it again without a moment’s hesitation.
Be mine, Jade. Now and always.
Just as I will be forever yours.
Fallen Angel of Death Extraordinaire
P.S. I have chocolates.
