Excerpts: Iron Queen, Unraveled, Crimson Sunrise

Unraveled (Intertwined #2) by Gena ShowalterThis week we had three unexpected (and pretty excellent) excerpts from upcoming novels released online. All three were books we’re anxiously awaiting, and even the little teases had us squealing with glee (not in a fangirl way, we swear). And, what kind of book club would we be if we didn’t share previews with you? Not sure, but it wouldn’t be nice.

THE IRON QUEEN
Julie Kagawa may have just released the second Iron Fey book, The Iron Daughter (read our review), but she knows we’re already wanting more. (She’s a smart lady.) On Friday she shared a scene from book three The Iron Queen on the Harlequin blog. It’s not a long piece, but we get Ash training Meghan in the use of weapons. Amusing. UNRAVELED
Gena Showalter’s young adult series has the potential to be just as loved as her adult titles (Lords of the Underworld, Alien Huntress). The series opener Intertwined grabbed attention — and not just because it has a male protagonist that women like reading. The sequel Unraveled comes out in September, and for those who can’t wait a few more weeks, we have a link to read the first chapter online. Go get a taste of Unraveled.

CRIMSON SUNRISE
Finally, for those of you who have joined us in reading Crimson Moon this month, we have the prologue to its sequel Crimson Sunrise. J.A. Saare was kind enough to post the teaser to her blog. We immediately devoured it. It’s obvious we liked Crimson Moon. (Don’t forget we’ll be chatting about the novel on Tuesday!) The sequel looks darker, and we’re excited about that. If you’ve spotted any other good book snippets or previews this week, post them in the comments. Everyone will thank you.
