I was late to the party on Jay Kristoff’s Lotus War books. I started reading the first novel Stormdancer earlier this month, in fact. And seriously y’all should shame me for not reading these books sooner. So. Freaking. Good.
The books are full of lyrical prose that weaves a stunning tapestry of worldbuilding mythology and engaging characters. I sank into these books and became utterly enamored. The heroine is our kind of protagonist, VBC. She’s strong in all right ways.
The Lotus War books are often described as Japanese steampunk, which is really enough to make you want to read them, but in addition to the cool factor there, I think you’d really fall for the characters.
As such, I snagged a copy of the final book in the Lotus War trilogy Endsinger, which releases on Nov. 25, for one lucky VBC reader. I suggest you enter even if you aren’t caught up on the series, because you’re going to want to read this book as soon as you devour the first two. Trust me. In the meantime, do yourself a favor and pick up copies of Stormdancer and Kinslayer.
After the end of book #2, I wasn’t sure I wanted to read #3, but grim isn’t a good enough reason to not finish the trilogy. So, I entered!
This series sounds amazing!!! Thanks for the review – it’s always awesome to find another great author!
It sounds really good!
I haven’t read this series yet but I own the first two books. If I had the third book, I could just marathon the whole thing. 🙂
I’ve had this series on my TBR list for a long time now. You’re giveaway reminds me I need to get a move on and read them already! 🙂
I just loooove giveaways. 🙂
I love learning about an awesome new series to read. Also this book is being released on my Birthday.
I’m always excited to start a new series. 🙂
this series sounds amazing! I have book 1 and I so excited to start 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing!
What a fantastic series! Based on your review, I would love to win a copy of this book.
I’ve had this series on my TBR pile for awhile. Would love to have to go with the others.
I’m excited about the whole series, they sound brilliant. Thanks.
I have been a fan since before the release of STORMDANCER. I entered to win a copy of STORMDANCER by posting this: http://gdonaldcribbsbooks.blogspot.com/2012/07/raiders-of-last-arc-official-entry-for.html in which I drew a sketch of Yukiko and Buruu’s when they first met (epic battle). I didn’t win, but that’s pretty much how Jay is with his readers. He crushes their hearts/dreams/undying loyalty toward his characters, and then he kills them, or does other horrible, unspeakable things to them. And we keep reading. I know, right?
I read Book 2 and preordered it so I could get THE LAST STORMDANCER, and OMG! You’ve got to read that before you read KINSLAYER. It makes it even (worse) better.
I am dying to be (tortured again) able to read the final book and see what happens to all the remaining, blood-soaked characters Jay has had fun mauling/torturing/flaying off their skin, etc. Bring on the pain!
Thank you for the opportunity to win.
If I win this giveaway it will definite push to read the whole series.
You’ve enticed me into trying the series.
I’m like you. I only recently read the first book which was awesome and I have book 2, Kinslayer but haven’t read it yet. I wanted to wait until I had the final book before reading so I wouldn’t have anxiety fits waiting to see how it all turns out.
