Branded by Fire by Danielle Annett // VBCThank you so much for having me today!  I’m thrilled to be here celebrating the release of my Blood & Magic series novel Branded by Fire (snag it at Amazon). (If you’re new to the series, don’t worry. Branded by Fire can be read as a standalone.)

Today I thought I would give you a glimpse into my writing style and share some of my favorite quotes and small snippets from Branded by Fire. I did remove anything I felt might be spoilery, and used REDACTED, so you can read on safely.

1. I looked down at REDACTED’S heart, inches away from my booted foot, where I’d dropped it.

Anger fueled my temptation to kick it.

I refrained—just barely.

2. “I’m a bastard.”

“I know.”

“And I don’t deserve you.”

“Glad you’re finally realizing that.”

I swiped at the tears on my cheeks and tried to pull away from him, but his grip was iron tight.

“But I love you.”

3. His head was turned to the side, his mouth wide open as he lay unconscious on the floor. His shoulder was bleeding, but I hadn’t hit anything vital.

He’d live to be an asshat another day.

4. “You’re a very aggravating coyote,” I said.

“Thank you.”

“It wasn’t a compliment.”

5. “Go climb in bed,” he said softly, pinning me with his eyes. It was clearly an order, and for once, I was happy to oblige.

ABOUT BRANDED BY FIRE

Aria Naveed can’t decide what’s worse—being mate-bonded to Declan Valkenaar, the Alpha of the Pacific Northwest Pack, or owning up to the fact that she’s developing feelings for him.

Her bond to Declan is the one thing keeping her grounded and preventing her new power from destroying everything and everyone around her.

If Aria doesn’t tread carefully, especially where her heart is concerned, she’ll learn the hard way that if you play with fire, you’ll always get burned.
