The Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep may focus on the ass-kicking skills of heroine Gin Blanco, but that doesn’t mean readers won’t get a little romance fix, too. Carmel from Rabid Reads is all about Owen Grayson. Read her Character Love Letter to him below (potential spoilers if you’re not up to Widow’s Web).
I’ll never forget that night at Northern Aggression a couple of weeks ago when our eyes locked from across the room: grey on violet. In that moment I felt the Earth move and I know that you felt it too. Admittedly, you have been acting like a douchebag since Widow’s Web but I forgive you because now I understand that you did it for us. Gin would have killed you and maybe me too had you cheated on her so in a way, you saved my life and now we can be together without having to live in fear of The Spider. Your plan worked perfectly my darling; I knew you’d find a way!
At this point I think we can skip over the awkward dating phase and just jump right to the “good stuff”. I’ve read every Elemental Assassin novel so we basically already know each other. Let’s just cut to the chase and seal our new relationship with a kiss, or rather, your hard, sexy blacksmith body pressed up against mine. I have a feeling that you look even better naked than you do in your expensive suits. Your mischievous smiles speak volumes and I’m dying to find out what makes you so darned confident (although, I do have my suspicions)!
I realize that relationships are about hard work and compromise therefore I’ve already quit my job so that you can focus on your career. This way you’ll always have a date for fundraisers and business dinners. Plus, I’ll look extra fabulous on your arm thanks to all of the beautiful gowns you’re going to buy me! I know that this is a huge sacrifice on my part, but for you my love, I’m happy to do it.
Fate has finally smiled on us my sweet Owen. There are no more assassins in our way. Let’s not delay our happily-ever-after any longer; I cannot stand living one more second without you. Meet me tonight at Northern Aggression and we’ll put the club’s floor to good use. It’s time for the world to know that you belong to me.
P.S. I can’t wait for our one year anniversary when you’re going to make me something extra special with your metal elemental magic. My gift better be 100 times better than some crummy knives!
