Love letter to Tohrment (J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood)

From VBC: Character Love Letters is beginning to wind down, and I knew you  would be ready for more love for the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Today we have a love letter to one of the most beloved Brothers, Tohrment. His book, Lover Reborn, comes out next month and to say it’s anxiously awaited would be an understand.

Lover Reborn by J.R. WardDear Tohrment,

I was always afraid to speak my love for you because, well, you have a shellan. And after what happened…it just didn’t seem like a good time. But now, with Valentine’s Day just behind us, I find that I can’t be silent any longer. I know that you have heard how wonderful you are for centuries, but in case you’ve forgotten recently, I wanted to tell you myself.

Tohr, you are, in short, every woman’s dream…or at least you’re mine. Let’s start with how handsome you are. I know you might think that you are overlooked, what with Rhage and V around, but let me assure you…you’re noticed. From your dark hair to your midnight blue eyes to your chiseled jaw, even with your stance, you exude confidence, control, and lethal unleashed power. With one look you could completely make me melt.

Then there’s the way you act. So many times you are quiet and serious, but then you open up and your sense of humor really comes out. Beyond that, you are dedicated and loyal to those you care about, ready to be a fierce warrior or a trusted friend depending on the situation. And then how you love…oh how you love. Every time I saw how devoted you were to Wellsie, I fell in love with you a little bit more. There’s nothing sexier than a male who knows how to treat his female…who is so in love and so ready to be the world’s best father…and the fact that you were still willing to adopt and care for John Matthew…you have no idea how rare that is. But for you, it just comes naturally because that’s who you are. You are a protector, always willing to help those in need, and that’s just one more thing that makes you perfect in my eyes.

There’s one more thing, even though you may not know this yet…you are so very strong. Not just physically but emotionally as well. Even though you suffered so much, you didn’t give up. (Let’s leave the annoying angel’s part in that out, shall we?) You were there for your brothers and for John Matthew even when it killed you to be. Everything you do proves what a male of worth you are. And everything just makes me fall deeper in love with you.

And so, my dearest Tohrment, all that’s left to say is that I love you. I wish you all the happiness in the world…and if that happiness just so happens to be with me instead of…well, let’s not go there…I wouldn’t be complaining.

Love, hugs, and kisses,

Christin

  1. Okay… first things first. *pulls on my shit kickers… the cute ones with heels* Who said you could love Tohr???? He is totes off limits! *stakes ‘Do not touch on penalty of tushy kicking on Wellsie’s behalf’ sign in front of Tohr* Okay, now that THAT is taken care of…

Awww, baby sis. What an awesome letter! Everything you said is so true and are all the reasons Tohr stole my heart… in a completely respectful ‘his shellan is taller and stronger and more badass than me’ way. He is such a good character, one of my absolute faves of the series, because he was so easy to relate to. He was so much more ‘real’ than the others, I think because his life was more relateable. It made what happened in Lover Awakened even more heartbreaking than it would have been.

Personally, I’m not convinced I need to read Lover Reborn. *turns nose up in air* I’m very not happy about it. But Tohrment definitely deserves to be loved and be happy, so I’ll suck it up.

*sends INNOCENT, NON-NAKKIE love vibes to Tohr… and a prayer to the Scribe Virgin that his book is worthy*

Lovely letter! Straight from the heart , I could say and think those things for Thor even though I’m not in love with him!
