Lynsay Sands knows how to write a romance that readers get wrapped up in. Today we have a special treat in seeing this love letter from Anders to Valerie, the hero and heroine of her upcoming book Immortal Ever After. (Character Love Letters always brings the romance, though.)
The latest Argeneau book will release on Feb. 26, though you can pre-order it now. If you’re not current with the vampire romance series, not to worry. We’ll be giving away three of the Argeneau books at the end of this post. Hint hint.
I knew the moment that you opened your eyes that there was something special about you. I felt like in that instant you saw me for who I really was and I knew I would do anything to protect you. I have been alive a very long time. I have seen a lot of misery and evil in this world and I know what people, mortal and immortal alike, are capable of. I do not consider myself a pessimist.
I know that my dark past is not what everyone experiences and I know the job I do, although not easy, is for the greater good. Be that as it may, there have been a lot of dark things happen either within my own life or I have seen happen to others that were innocent. Although I have found peace at times, I had come to accept the fact that I wasn’t going to find that abstract thing called happiness… until I met you. For the first time I felt a sort of warmth curl in my chest as a glimmer of hope flickered in my dark, neglected heart.
To say I am yours, body and soul, is the truth. I know the words I have put down on this piece of paper in an attempt to describe how I feel about you are completely inadequate but since this is the only form of communication I have right now, it will have to do. I love you Valerie.
