We just closed out the poll for the November group read, and once again you chose definitively. With almost 36 percent of the vote, our November group read book is Paranormalcy by Kiersten White.
You might remember back this summer when we lamented having to wait for the book to be released. It sounds like several of you have the book waiting on your to-read shelves. Well, now’s the time!
If you voted for a different book, no worries, all six of the books up for the November group read already have been or will be reviewed shortly. As a matter of fact Cherie Priest’s Boneshaker is literally on the top of the paperback to-read pile at the Vampire Book Club casa.
Also, don’t forget to join us tonight to talk about Vampire Academy. (Full details here, but short version follow tag #VBC03 on Twitter.)
Paranormalcy features the funny, girly Evie who will not ever be dating a vampire. She’s of the mind “ew, dead.” We forgive her. If you’re game to enter Evie’s world, we hope you’ll join us in reading Paranormalcy this month. Get all the details of how Vampire Book Club’s group reads work here.
Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie’s always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours, but still. Normal.
Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie’s dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
Hope you’re up for the fun of reading Paranormalcy. Of course, we have a review coming soon and some other fun stuff.
