These alphas dominated their earlier competitors without lifting a finger. The Beast Lord Curran trounced Holden and son of Satan Reyes had no trouble conquering the vampire Trehan. How will these formidable men deal with an equal opponent?

Reyes who? Curran is THE BEAST LORD for heaven’s sake! The king of the shapeshifters! The leader of the Pack! A giant freaking lion! Kitty kitty! Oh wait…forget that last one.
Reyes…..king alpha? Better than all the rest? I don’t think so. He’s not even in corporeal form half the time! Curran would bite off Reyes’ head and spit it out faster than Reyes could pull out that cute little scythe of his. Reyes as the winner of the Alpha Showdown? That’s sweet guys, but quit humoring the poor little hell spawn.
Curran is THE alphaiest Alpha out there. He drips authority (and sexiness…and charm…) all over the place. He commands the respect and adoration of the entire Pack and even though he rules with an iron fist, he still manages to be fair, logical, and compassionate. He is a force to be reckoned with, from the roar to the claws to the battle-tested fighting ability – Curran’s the Lord for a reason.
He’s also an Alpha when it comes to romance. I mean, how can you not vote for the man who brought Kate Daniels to her knees? The man who looked in the face of her snarky ‘kitty kitty’ and demanded she cook him dinner in the buff! Who else can make you dream about killing a dinosaur together and then having sex in the dirt? Who else can you lovingly describe as a psychopathic control freak? Who else demands you call him, “Lord” with all seriousness? Who else will glue your ass to your chair and you will still love him? There. Is. No. Other.
Reyes Schmeyes. Son of Satan? Sure, you’re a little powerful, but THE ALPHA? I think not, Hell Boy. So, we’re in agreement then? Just go ahead and vote for Curran so he can take his rightful place as alpha of this showdown. If you don’t, he will know. And since he is kind of a major badass…you might be in trouble. RAWR.

I see a lot of vampires, some weres and even a dragon in this year’s Alpha Showdown… but only one son of Satan. That’s right, VBC readers, make way for the one, the only Reyes Farrows.
Born from the heat of supernova, he grew to be the General of Hell, leading thousands of soldiers in countless wars… and he gave it all up for a girl. That’s right, Rey’aziel (he’s name literally means the Beautiful One!) said a big FU to his dad and became Hell’s public enemy No. 1 to spend a mortal lifetime with Charley. He didn’t just turn his back on Hell though, he decided to stand directly in the path of what his father wants most, fighting on the front line to keep Heaven and Earth safe.
Inhumanly fast, bordering on indestructible and with an immeasurable IQ, he can take just about anything on. He can fight in his corporeal and incorporeal forms AT THE SAME TIME (yep, he can be in two places at once). When corporeal he’ll use that lethal body to take you out, but when incorporeal he’ll severe your spine without so much as a mark. He’s literally badass enough to scare the dead.
But it isn’t just all about the fighting, oh no. He can be compassionate and kind, he loves with his whole heart and would die in a heartbeat for those he holds close. He’s always willing to make himself look like the bad guy (or in some cases to actually be the bad guy) in order to protect someone else. His Alpha energy may intimidate people on an instinctual level, but for those who truly know him, he inspires unwavering loyalty.
Oh and he does all this looking like tattooed sex on legs, rendering most women speechless when he walks in a room.
Ultimate Alpha = Reyes Farrows. ‘Nough said.

I like them both and in so glad I can say I’ve read both of these series but curran stole my heart a long time ago and I think that Reyes, though a fine cupboard of china, is sorta manipulative and I don’t like that. Curran all the way, baby!

Is it bad that fans are so easily amenable to bribery in our decision making? Or is Darynda Jones just at a disadvantage in terms of bribing?
Well both have authors have given bribes of a pretty similar nature so I don’t think anyones at a disadvantage

Curran, without a doubt. He is the ultimate alpha, no question – come on, he’s a First, a god-killer, and a wonderfully (and self-aware) psychotic Beast Lord – who also happens to be completely, to-the-end-of-this-world-and-beyond devoted to his mate. He fights with her when it’s needed, supports her always, and petrifies any and everyone else when the gold headlights turn on. Do I even need to mention his kick-a$$ fighting skills, his crazy powerful beast form, his complete and total control in that form, and his ability, strength and there’s-no-alternative-or-acceptable-outcome determination to battle anyone /anything that threatens his people and always come out the victor? No, I didn’t think so… 😉

It would seem someone on the Reyes side has a vote bot.
No one was saying the Curran side had a vote bot when he was hundreds ahead of Reyes. The votes have been fluctuating all day.
I’ve been watching it over the last few hours, Reyes would get a new vote every 7 seconds on the dot. Poll Daddy polls are exceptionally easy to bot, lots of scripts out there exist to do just this.
Then it’s happening from both sides because they’ve both been getting a lot of votes. I’ve been watching it since Ms. Jones mentioned the bribe yesterday. But it’s been a roller coaster all day today.

I think it’s a bot. If you look at comments on this thread it’s WAY into Curran’s favor. So the Reyes people, if they are real sure aren’t commenting much. Curran has had a big lead most of the time.
Most of us love both guys. It’s a friendly competition, there is no reason to accuse people of cheating. If it were a bot then Reyes would be much further ahead. They make sure no cheating goes on.
I voted yesterday but didn’t comment until a little bit ago. All of the women in my book club voted yet did not comment. It happens.

Hmmm…you may be right. Whatever happens, Curran is always Alpha.
It is easy to see why people think cheating is happening. Reyes is in the lead in the polls but looking at the comments (when there was a total of 372) I counted 31 votes for Reyes, 12 comments that didn’t specify and 372 positive votes for Curran. What’s up here people?

You’re right, the comments are very much in Curran’s favor. I wouldn’t normally leave a comment like I did earlier, but I noticed Reyes fans weren’t being vocal and I wanted to support him. But Darynda has over 12,500 Facebook fans and over 4,000 Twitter fans that she has been sharing this link with all day. Her series has a large following. I really don’t think any kind of cheating is going on.
