Waiting on Wednesday: Allegiance of Honor by Nalini Singh

Allegiance of Honor by Nalini Singh // VBCI spent last week in Las Vegas for the RT Booklover’s Convention. It was wonderful to be surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of people who love genre fiction the way the team at VBC does. Authors and readers talking about what’s next in romance and urban fantasy.

It’s not often enough I sit at a bar and fall into a debate about tropes, but it sure happens at RT. I’ll do a full roundup soon, but Nalini Singh’s Allegiance of Honor was much buzzed about. I might even have an early copy to giveaway on the blog soon. (Prepare yourselves!)

I was able to get the tease that Allegiance of Honor is a little different from the other books in the Psy-Changeling series. It needed to be to tie together all the threads. Plus, we’re going to get to see all the characters we care about.

Basically, VBC crew, I’m thinking come June 14, we’re going to get one of the most satisfying series endings ever. Team VBC is VERY. EXCITED. ABOUT. THIS. BOOK.

We’d suggest pre-ordering now. It’s the smart thing to do. If you haven’t read any of the Psy-Changeling books get thee to Amazon and pick up Slave to Sensation

Here’s the blurb for the fifteenth book in the series, Allegiance of Honor:

The Psy-Changeling world has undergone a staggering transformation and now stands at a crossroads. The Trinity Accord promises a new era of cooperation between disparate races and groups. It is a beacon of hope held together by many hands: Old enemies. New allies. Wary loners.

But a century of distrust and suspicion can’t be so easily forgotten and threatens to shatter Trinity from within at any moment. As rival members vie for dominance, chaos and evil gather in the shadows and a kidnapped woman’s cry for help washes up in San Francisco, while the Consortium turns its murderous gaze toward a child who is the embodiment of change, of love, of piercing hope: A child who is both Psy…and changeling.

To find the lost, protect the vulnerable—and save Trinity—no one can stand alone. This is a time of loyalty across divisions, of bonds woven into the heart and the soul, of heroes known and unknown standing back to back and holding the line. But is an allegiance of honor even possible with traitors lurking in their midst?

Update: An earlier version of this post said Allegiance would be the final book in the series. While this one completes the first story arc, Nalini will be writing more Psy books! We’re sorry for the error, and very happy about more books from Nalini.

The good news is that this series isn’t actually ending. I had lunch with Nalini at RT, and Allegiance of Honor is only the end to the first story arc. Nalini likened it to the end of season 1 in a TV series and now we’re starting season two. Exciting!!

This book was so very, very good. I think I keeled over from cuteness a couple of times. And there were tears. I can’t wait for everyone else to read it so I can properly squee about it!

I’m determined to get caught up with the series before Allegiance comes out. Currently reading Shield of Winter so it’s not like I’m too far behind. 🙂

I’m also glad to hear Allegiance isn’t the last. This is such a great series, I could read it forever.
