Waiting on Wednesday: Blood Prophecy by Stefan Petrucha

The synopsis for Stefan Petrucha’s Blood Prophecy conjures two thoughts in my mind: Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Prince of Persia (notable, because I never saw that movie or played the game — so this is purely on looks alone).

We have a vampire fighting against his nature falling for a human woman who understands his pain (see how I’m drawing the Buffy reference)? Though, my gut says this is darker and more horror — and I am good with that. Also, nice to see a male POV urban fantasy make my to-read list. The book is set to release on Oct. 26 from Grand Central Publishing.

Read the back cover copy, and tell me if you’re willing to take the journey with Jeremiah Fall.

Blood ProphecyMan and monster are in his blood. . .

His name is Jeremiah Fall. A soldier of fortune, he has been fighting his own war for 150 years–ever since the beast in him was born.

Desperate to restore his lost humanity, Fall crosses the sands of Egypt, discovers a lost city off the coast of France, and finally arrives at the birthplace of all mankind. Shunning daylight and feeding only when he must, he battles the monster who transformed him forever. He can share his deepest secret with no one . . . not even the beautiful woman he starts to love, the only human who grasps the mysteries of an ebony stone as old as creation itself.

Across the world, across time, Fall seeks the stone’s secret. But has he found a cure for himself or unleashed a final curse on all mankind?

Wow this sounds like a very good book. I love that it not only has a romance element and a paranormal element, but the let’s say “archeological” element appeals to me, too! 🙂
    Thanks for the rec!
