Catching little bits about Kiersten White’s forthcoming YA novel Paranormalcy has been easy (and enticing, for that matter), but today I came across a short excerpt from the book on the HarperTeen site (read it here). It’s official, this book is on the to-read list when it arrives in stores Aug. 31.
Our leading lady, Evie, looks to be an ass-kicker game for cleaning up the paranormal baddies, but happily dating the good ones. Kind of sounds like a less dirty, young adult Anita Blake. Either way, we’re in.
Not sold? (Did you read the excerpt?) Just read the cover description, then:
Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.
But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.
