We haven’t had a surprise like this year’s Alpha Showdown in years. It’s official, a first-time contender has taken the title.
It’s been a minute since a vampire held the title, and we’re so happy to welcome all the Blackthorn fans who came out in force for this master vampire. He beat former Alpha Showdown champion Barrons. BARRONS, y’all. And then won a second fierce battle against Kate Daniels. It’s impressive. He’s impressive.

Chelsea, I would like to thank you and Vampire Book Club for all your hard work in putting on this competition. It is the first time I have discovered it, but I will be back next year.
I’ve had so much fun – and I know that was what you wanted it to be, so I would say mission accomplished.
I’ve discovered so many new books and new authors – my TBR list is rather long – i need a holiday to get through them all.
I am absolutely delighted Kane has won. I have been a Blackthorn fan for some time. The world is complex, and whilst some may need a little time to get their head around it all, for those who haven’t tried it yet, I would encourage them too. I may take more than the first book, Blood Shadows, to figure out what’s going on, but those who stick with it will be rewarded handsomely
Authors need the support of readers, particularly those less well known. There is space for all types of authors and books, and whilst no-one will like everyone, we, as readers, should encourage first and foremost. For without authors there are no books, and without books, our lives are so much less rich.

I have loved this Alpha showdown as i am a big fan of Lindsay J Pryor and her Blackthorn series but i have also got a lot of reading material through this fun compertition as well ,so well done vampire book club.

I’m so thrilled Kane won and Lyndsay j Pryor is getting some exposure. Blackthorn really is my favourite PNR series and Kane really is THE master vampire. And so many books on my tbr pile now – this is going to cost me a fortune!!!! Xxx
I’m also new to this showdown and have discovered a few new alphas to add to my TBR pile! What a fantastic way to discover new authors! If anyone out there hasn’t read the Blackthorn series I would definitely recommend giving it a go, it truly is an amazing series and I’ll be sad when it ends. Congratulations to Lindsay J. Pryor on Kane’s win, very well deserved.

Amy glad u downloaded Blood Shadows A Dark PNR, the first book in the Blackthorn series,i am sure u will love it,Lindsay is a fantastic Writter and gets u immersed in the story lines that keep u guessing.

I’ve been a VBC fan for almost 2 years now and just love it!! I love discovering new reading material to feed my fantasies. Congratulations, I snagged Blood Shadows as I don’t know Kane yet but I love that we have a newbie as a winner though I’m still rooting for a female winner. Ah well, next year… 🙂
We were THIS CLOSE to having a female alpha. Sigh. At least one of the gals made it to the last bracket. That’s new.
Just looked to see if my library has the winner and they have it on audio so I’ll give him a try at some point.
