It seems that Bones is becoming the Susan Lucci of Alpha Showdown. And that’s just not right! He’s a leather-wearing, motorcycle-riding, sexy-accent-having urban fantasy icon. But he’s also a patient man. Remember when he spent four years waiting to get Cat back? He’s been waiting four years for his Alpha Showdown title too. And I think that’s long enough.
How many of those other Alphas can fly? Okay, two. And a few more of them could if they wanted to, but none of them would look as good doing it. Bones can also read minds, stop bullets (and unhook bras) telekinetically, and pretty much come back from the dead. Remember when he turned into a vampire raisin in At Grave’s End? Or kept fighting without most of his skin in Up from the Grave? And he’s a master strategist because he did those things on purpose.
Bones once got shot in the head, jumped out a window, flew down the street and overturned a van with one hand while holding Cat with the other. And that was before he started gaining new powers. He has a talent for making an impression on his enemies: “One moment Domino’s legs were kicking, the next they were ripped off and in Bones’s hands.” (At Grave’s End) And Domino got off easy compared to the ghoul that Bones beat with his own severed arm.
Bones has battled zombies and ghosts, a Voodoo Queen and a mad scientist, and the formidable Justina Crawfield. He’s survived being sent to a prison colony, stuck in The Capsule, and related to Ian. He deserves an award for that last one alone!
Everyone talks about Chapter 32 and I’m certainly not going to deny Bones’s skills. By now, we all know that once you go dead, no one’s better in bed. But I think sometimes that overshadows what a romantic he is at heart. Who wouldn’t melt when they hear “Kitten, your hands are my heaven and your eyes are my home?” (This Side of the Grave) Sure, sometimes that devotion becomes over-protective and kind of annoying. But that’s just part of being an Alpha.
And isn’t it about time for the VAMPIRE Book Club to actually give the crown to a vampire?

Bones!!! he would wipe the floor with Kate, he can literally just hold her there as he kills her, like c’mon people, have some common sense! kate isnt even a alpha, I read all the books between both of them and its pretty obvious who would win in a fight. Obviously Bones.
No way! Kate can actually control vampires with her blood power mojo! If she went up against a vamp, they wouldn’t stand a chance.

Oh c’mon, this is a completly different universe, the vampires she controls are pathetic zombies with no training whatsoever, and once again, Bones can literally just hold her there with his mind before he kills her, plus he was speed she couldnt dream of, he could throw a knife into her heart before she even blinks. Not to mention he has flight and the ability to read minds.
Kate all the way! She fights hard, she fights smart, and has . . . special leverage against vampires!
It’s got to be Kate. Even if you assume she couldn’t control the vampires in this world (an assumption I’m not willing to make) she’s still got power words. She can make him kneel, which come to think of it, would be a good look for Bones.
I have to go with Kate on this one the biggest and baddest of all the Alphas doesn’t matter if they are male, female, or a what ever. She will still kick their butts like she did to the alphas of Clan Jackals in book 5.

People! Are you not even considering the extent of his powers? She cant say any power words if he uses his telekineses to freeze her in place, she wouldnt be able to utter a single syllable, not only that but power words have different affects depending on peoples strength of will, She wasn’t able to make Curran kneel when she tried and Bones has a hell of a lot more strength then Curran. Not only that, but did you forget the part where Bones an literally just throw a knife in her heart before she has the chance to react? He’s one of the most feared in the vampire world for a reason, there has never been a situation that he couldn’t get out off whereas Kate was rescued and saved repeatedly. She would have died numerous times throughout the books because in the end, her biggest fight was one that she only won because her aunt threw the match for her.
Truer words have never been spoken! Preach sister preach!

While I love them both, Kate is definitely my choice. She is smart, independent, snarky and kick-ass. She is my idea of a perfect Alpha and book heroine.
I adore Kate but I have to go with Bones in this one…..I never read the books, I listened to them and can close my eyes and hear Bones, with his cockney accent talking to his Kitten, Cat…..he makes me swoon!

I think it would be one heck of a showdown and I love them both so I really hope that it never comes down to a real showdown between them that would just hurt my feelings but I had to pick Kate over bones because she’s female and us females have to stick together.
