Auction: Signed Ann Aguirre novel and character name [Books Fighting Cancer]

logo

Outpost by Ann AguirreI love the world Ann Aguirre has created in her Razorland series (VBC review of Enclave). The young adult dystopian series is clever, edgy and addictive. Not only is Ann offering up signed books in this Books Fighting Cancer auction, but she’s working on a short story set in the Razorland world and she’ll let the highest bidder design the main character’s love interest — name, description, gender.

From Ann: “The MC is female, but the love interest can be either. I’m willing to write m/f or f/f. Whichever makes the winner happy. Should be age appropriate for a 15-16 year old girl, though.”

Highest bidder will take home:

  • Signed copy of Enclave (Razorland #1)
  • Signed ARC of Outpost (Razorland #2)
  • You name the love interest character in an upcoming Razorland short story

I prefer not to write a real person into the story, but the winner will have full control over background, personality, appearance, name, age (so long as it’s appropriate), and gender for the heroine of the short story. That’s obviously in addition to the books. Also, if the winner prefers a finished copy of OUTPOST to an ARC, we can do that, too.

  2. Ann Aguirre says:

Er, the heroine’s love interest. The heroine already has a name. 😀

FYI, this short story is a prequel, set before the first events in ENCLAVE, and it’s about how the College settlement came to be. The main character is named Robin Schiller. Additionally? I just went back and re-read the novella where Robin is mentioned. I never say whether Robin is male or female. As it’s a gender neutral name, I’ll let the winner decide on the gender of the MC, too. So potentially, this story could be m/m, f/f, or m/f with the love interest being female and the POV protagonist being male. Or vice versa. Whatever you want to read, oh divine auction winner, I shall write.

$100. I have to say this is an awesome auction idea and I think it would be great if maybe there was a link to be able to donate after the auction was over for those that didn’t win but still want to donate to the cause. 🙂

I have never participated in a comment auction before. It seems pretty cool as long there aren’t people here messing about and putting silly prices just to annoy others. But what the hell will give it a shot, I am gonna bid $176. Let’s see if anyone tops that.

  8. Shirley says:

Dang I fell asleep. I’m an early morning person and late nights get me. I would have gone for $177 tops but congrats to Chris unless he want’s to sell it to me. 😉 LOL!

  9. Shirley says:

Well I guess I shouldn’t assume that CHris is a he. So please forgive me if Chris is a she. 🙂
