The Fiery Heart by Richelle MeadLast week, I introduced you to new reviewer Amanda. Well, now I’d like to point to you a couple new associate reviewers. I highly recommend you check out Mary’s review of Fury of Fire and Krista’s review of Immortally Yours. Get to know the new folks. I’m excited to have more voices at VBC. Lots of exciting things in the works. Plus, you know, Alpha Showdown nominations are open through Monday and things are certainly heating up there.

Adrian POV! More Sydney! The Fiery Heart excerpts!
Usually I’m not much for exclamation point explosions, but two excerpts from Richelle Mead’s forthcoming Bloodlines novel The Fiery Heart in one week? That’s worthy of punctuation madness. The first one is longer—four pages—and from Sydney’s point-of-view. It has a few good laughs in it. The second one is short, but features that dashing Mr. Ivashkov. You’ll see him making a friend at college.

Archangel’s Legion is Coming
Nalini Singh shared the blurb for the next Guild Hunter book. Archangel’s Legion is scheduled for an October 2013 release. Here are the details:

Nalini Singh, the New York Times bestselling “alpha author of paranormal romance” (Booklist) returns to an immortal world of violent passion and lethal power…on the brink of a deadly archangelic war.

Angels are falling from the sky in New York, struck down by a vicious, unknown force.

Vampires are dying impossibly of disease.

Guild hunter Elena Deveraux and the Archangel Raphael must discover the source of the wave of death before it engulfs their city and their people, leaving New York a ruin and Raphael’s Tower under siege by enemy archangels.

Yet even as they fight desperately to save the city, an even darker force is stirring, its chill eyes trained on New York…and on Raphael. Rivers of crimson and nightmares given flesh, the world will never again be the same…

Deleted Scene from Amanda Bonilla
I managed to snag a sneak peek of Amanda Bonilla’s upcoming newsletter, and if you’re a fan of her Shaede Assassin books (Shaedes of Gray, Blood Before Sunrise) you’re going to want to subscribe to her list. She’s going to send out a deleted scene of when Darian and Tyler met. Yes, a flashback scene. If you’re all about Tyler, you’ll want to read it. Despite my infatuation with Xan (because I want what’s bad for me!), I still loved the scene. I think you will, too.

Why We Love Daryl Dixon
Over at Heroes & Heartbreakers this week I talked about the real reasons we swoon for The Walking Dead‘s Daryl Dixon. The guy is a romance hero. He has all the necessary attributes: he’s lethal and loyal, a bad boy with a soft side and have you seen those arms? Read my case for Daryl and share in the love.
