After a week of voting, there was no question — you guys want a Cat & Bones fix. The hands-down winner for our January group read is Jeaniene Frost’s first Night Huntress novel Halfway to the Grave.
We did an early review of the fifth book in the series during the Winter Book Preview (don’t read it if you haven’t already dived into the world of Night Huntress). And from the comments we know many of you are game for a re-read of the early books before the latest release hits shelves.
If you haven’t yet met the strong, witty Cat (half-vampire, by the way) and the stubborn vampire ready to steal your heart Bones, then you highly suggest you join Vampire Book Club in reading Halfway to the Grave this month. We will have an end-of-the-month discussion chat on this one. In which you can all talk about how much you want to be best friends with Cat and/or abscond with Bones.

Flirting With The Grave…
Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father – the one responsible for ruining her mother’s life. Then she’s captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unlikely partnership.
In exchange for help finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She’s amazed she doesn’t end up as his dinner – are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn’t have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side … and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

I JUST finished listening to this on Audio, as I plan on re reading the series before the next one comes out. This is my favorite series out there and all I know is Bones better be on your hottie list next year!
I just finished this book and ordered At Grave’s end. I found this book to be super exciting on so many levels that I feel compelled to continue this series. Frost nailed the continuation of her series. I can’t wait to get the next one and continue to adventure with Cat and Bones (especially 🙂 Bones) If you haven’t already read it, ya need too…
I’m so glad your doing this series, I really loved it and actually just re-read them all in December. I can’t wait to read more of Cat and Bones!!
I’ve only read the first book, but I will probably read the rest at some point. I did enjoy the book, but not as much as I enjoy, say, the Sookie Sackhouse or early Anita Blake books
i read this book a few years ago and absolutely loved it. i am a fully on Cat and Bones fan and am through all the way to Destined For An Early Grave. glad you’re doing this series!:)
I have just discovered this site, along with getting a kindle for my birthday, after reading the group read I ordered this book, and had finished it within 2 days. It is great to find books recomended as so many times I have started but not enjoyed them. I have also just bought the next one in this series and look forward to joining the monthly book club reviews.
This is by far the best series I have ever read and believe me I’ve read alot.
