Our third post in the February series of character love letters comes from Loribelle Hunt. (You can still read the character love letters by Denise K. Rago and Laurie London.) Her paranormal romance novel Kiss of Darkness was released last month through Harlequin’s digital-only imprint Carina Press.
A quick download of Hunt’s Kiss of Darkness had us wrapped up in a great love story. As we said in our review, the e-book gives a sweet escape filled with vampires, demons and werewolves. There’s also plenty of jealousy in the novel, which is part of what makes the growth you’ll see from Marcus in his letter to Winter all the sweeter.
MARCUS’ LOVE LETTER TO WINTER
by Loribelle Hunt
I wake every evening amazed to find you in my arms. I do not know what I have done to deserve you, but I thank the universe every day for bringing us together. Before we met, my life was tedious, nothing but a string of nights filled with duty and obligation to my people. I’d begun to despair of ever finding a mate, a woman who would bring me back to life so to speak.
I recall my first sight of you, beautiful and ferocious as you fought the demons, a modern day Crusader. You were not what I expected of my mate. You are so strong and fierce and independent. Not at all a proper nightwalker female. But I watch you with your people, caring for them with respect and love, and I know you are exactly what was missing from my life. I wouldn’t change a thing about you.
You cannot imagine the joy I feel, my sweet warrior, having you at my side and knowing we have centuries yet to love each other.
