Vampire Academy Re-Read Challenge

Vampire Academy Re-Read ChallengeWe’re looking to the release of Last Sacrifice, the final book in the Vampire Academy series, with excitement and apprehension. We want to complete this journey with Rose, but it will be hard to let go of our favorite YA series.

To get the most out of it, we’ve decided to re-read the series before the Dec. 7, 2010, release. We invite you to relive Rose’s journey of love, responsibility, friendship and heartbreak with us.

Vampire Book Club is sponsoring a Vampire Academy Re-Read Challenge. All five books will need to be read between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30. We’re giving a two-month block, because we’re aware some of you will be doing Fever and Highlander series re-reads simultaneously.

The five books we’re reading for this challenge are (click to view description at Book Depository):

If you haven’t yet read the Vampire Academy series, this is a great time to do so. It’s a remarkable YA series with great appeal to adults. The fourth title, Blood Promise, is one of our favorite books — YA or otherwise.

I forgot how much I had in common with Rose when it comes to relationships with our mothers. Mine is obsessed with her job just like hers, and it’s kind of sad now that I think about it. Meh. And I was really starting to like Mason. Sad day indeed. Though I was super proud of Rose at the end.

im in the middle of blood promise…it is so amazzing i think me and lisa have that worrying about our friends the same and how we get caught up with “new friends” that we don’t realize how dangerous they are until something bad happens.

Here is my review for spirit bound i can’t believe I’m done i can’t wait for last sacrifice! I really want rose to end up with Dimitri because there perfect for each other but Adrian is so sweet especially in this book, how did Richelle Mead decided i hope nothing bad happens to one of them. Anyway here’s my last review.

  5. Yay! So glad I found this reading challenge as I just started reading the VA series! That is fate! 😀

I reviewed Vampire Academy here: http://www.stella-exlibris.com/2010/10/book-review-vampire-academy-by-richelle.html

I’m so glad I finally started reading this series, I’ve heard so many people praise it, and I agree, it is amazing! Rose is a wonderful character and Richelle Mead’s writing is fantastic!

  6. I also reviewed Frostbite, book#2 here: http://www.stella-exlibris.com/2010/10/book-review-frostbite-by-richelle-mead.html

Lissa angered me so much in this novel! But Adrian is a cutie 😀 he cracks me up with his agressive&charming flirting 🙂

Sometimes I forget how much Rose rocks. And I could see Mason again. I miss him =(
But reading this book again showed me that Adrian is an important character. I misses someone calling Rose “Little Dhampir”

  8. Andrea Kelley says:

I love the Vampire Academy series so much. And Rose is my favorite literary character. I plan on naming my future daughter Roza. 🙂

Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2) by Richelle Mead
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Another can’t put it down book. This was the start of my heartache for Rose and my tears for her. I again don’t want to give anything away. But when Rose is captured along with Eddie, Mason, Christian and Mia things get intense to say the least. THis book is even better then book 1 and gives you so much more to sink you “fangs” into and you keep rooting for Rose and Dimitri inspite of all the obstacles that they face both external and internal.

Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy, #3) by Richelle Mead
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
“You will lose what you value most so treasure it while you can” Give me chills and brings tears to my eyes. Heartbreaking… Couldn’t put it down and read the next one right after. Nuff said

  22. Jeanette says:

    Blood Promise by Richelle Mead
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
“Roza.” His voice had the same wonferful lowness, the same accent . . . it was all just colder. “You forgot my first lesson: Don’t Hesitate.” -Dimitri Belikov” Well as much as I wanted to LOVE this book I didn’t. I liked it but, it only made me want for the next book. Not sure I liked the new role of Dimitri. Although I did come to really love Adrian and that made me torn. I don’t like to be torn. This was craaaazy loved it! “You forgot another lesson: Never turn your back until you know your enemy is dead. Looks like we’ll have to go over the lesson again the next time I see you—which will be soon. Love, D.”

    Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
WOW, what an ending… Again I don’t want to give anything away. Read the books starting with book 1 and make your way to book 5 and wait till December 7, 2010 for the last book of this series. “I’m sorry.” “Be sorry you lied,” he said, pressing a kiss to my forehead. “Don’t be sorry you loved him. That’s part of you, part you have to let go, yeah, but still something that’s made you who you are.” Rose and Adrian.”What are you, Rose Hathaway? Are you real? You’re a dream within a dream. I’m afraid touching you will make me wake up. You’ll disappear.” Adrian Ivoshkav

French review of Vampire Academy : http://oiseausecret.canalblog.com/archives/2010/03/12/17195147.html

With the re-reading of the first book, I could feel the innocence of Rose, when everything was ok and there were not Strigoï yet. The beginning of the relationship between Rose and Dimitri is so cute!

  27. Francoise says:

French review of Frostbite : http://oiseausecret.canalblog.com/archives/2010/04/01/17427496.html

My favourite character of the series (except Rose) is Adrian, so I’m always happy to read when he appears the first time during the ski trip. He does not change since the beginning.

  28. Francoise says:

French review of Shadowkiss : http://oiseausecret.canalblog.com/archives/2010/04/13/17559838.html

This third book is so heartbreaking! I started crying before the Strigoï attack because I knew of course what happened after.

  29. Francoise says:

French review of Blood Promise : http://oiseausecret.canalblog.com/archives/2010/04/21/17616960.html

It’s so fun to re-read about the relationship between Abe and Rose. I think it was easy to understand the link between us since their meeting.

French review of Spirit Bound : http://oiseausecret.canalblog.com/archives/2010/05/31/18054975.html

I think Rose is unfair with Adrian and used him when she was alone. I hope Adrian will be happy after Last Sacrifice.
