The smack talk has gotten heated the last few rounds. The bloodlust must be contagious.

Is this even a fair battle? Bones will be able to hear Jace’s every decision before he can put it into action. Then, by the time Jace deals his first strike, Bones will be up in the air with those fierce green eyes ready to kick some king booty!
Bones, in his very smexy British accent will say “Lucifer’s bouncing balls” and go on full attack, and the Shadowhunter won’t know what hit him.
Bones won’t only dominate Jace physically, but his snarky remarks will make it very entertaining as well. And let’s not forget – no one else has a chapter 32 like Bones did. What does that have to do with a battle against Jace?

Snarky, Sexy, Steadfast Shadowhunter. Ok, so he’s not quite legal, but this matters nada to me! Jace is the epitome of awesome, in my eyes. Yes, he can be a downright pompous ass, and if you don’t appreciate witty sarcasm, then he will piss you off in a quick minute. His witty banter about himself provided some of the best lines of the series.
What I love about his narcissistic personality is the obviousness of it all: He acts this way to hide his true emotions. Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s no doubt he truly thinks he’s hot shit (and, he is), but it is a complete defense mechanism. Beneath his animated exterior is a young man who is constantly suffering from his past experiences and lets out his feelings in the form of rage and vengeance.
His fighting skills are damn superb and he doesn’t let anyone forget that. 
His hard shell softens up after he becomes comfortable with Clary, and he finds himself feeling a new emotion. *swoon* Since he feels everything so intensely, his love for Clary is deep and powerful. And while Jace has some unlikeable qualities, he isn’t complete devoid of commendable ones.
He is strong, intelligent, fearless (not always a great quality!) and completely protective of Izzy and Alec, his “brother and sister”. Physically, Jace is perfecto! He uses his stele to apply magical runes all over his skin. Think seriously hot tattoos, ladies! He’s tall with lean muscle, wavy gold hair and long eyelashes. And, let us not forget that he has Angel blood running through his veins…

This is not even a competition… while i lovelovelove Jace in his series and in his world, Bones would wipe the floor with him in one swipe. Bloody Hell! poor poor jace.
Bones will need to get himself another job (no offence) because Jace is the ALFA (which in greek is the first letter of alphabet and means the “FIRST”!)

Bones. Hands down. I mean, I love Jace and he is a kick ass character but Bones is faster, stronger, and British :]

When you think about it…I’m fairly certain Jace is a virgin. Bones has chapter 32. Jace has tattoos and angel blood. Bones has mind reading skills; super strength, speed, and senses; super healing; mind altering abilities; ability to make people immortal (and in certain situations revive the -relatively- long dead); can fly and many other things that I can’t be bothered to recount. Jace had incest issues. Bones has Cat. Jace grew up a cosseted darling (seriously, a bath in spaghetti?). Bones had to earn a living from the moment his mother died, and it wasn’t all fun and games before that. Jace is funny. Bones is a riot. Jace is a boy. There is no doubting that Bones is all man.
Bones wins. Duh.
Jace is childhood is sure to be harder then Bones. Bathing is spaghetti was what he wanted for his birthday, but living with a father who is evil yet loves him is what he has to live with everyday. Jace doesn’t have incest issues because Clary is not his sister (Read the book not just the wiki page dumbass) Bones is a vampire dead and lifeless. Jace is alive, his golden eyes teaming with the rich blood of angels. Only God is more powerful then Angels and Jace as Heaven in his veins. He would show Bones what the Son his like. The true power of the Son. His golden radiance will shove Bones so far into hell he won’t know what hit him.
Yes, I know Clary isn’t his sister, but considering how we had to go through most of three books before we we aware of that I think I can definitely say he has -fine, HAD- issues. However, I think it’s fair to say that living virtually unprotected in London in the bad old days, having to earn a living as a thief and in even less savoury ways, then being deported to an Australian penal colony where he was put to work doing hard labour and then being converted into a vampire without knowing WTF is going on counts as pretty traumatic. And seriously, Bones has more than enough power to beat down Jace. Sure, Jace has Heaven in his veins, but he’s not an Angel and he’s not fully trained.
Jace is fully trained. He has been trained since birth. And light always wins against dark. Angel, even part angel, beats vampire every time.

I’ve read both series and I’m surprised so many people prefer Bones. I mean, did anyone read City of Fallen Angels? Bones is pretty typical, Jace isn’t.

Jace. Total badass. Born and raised a killer. Lady killer, too, perhaps a bit of a man-whore, but lovable. He’s tough and has the one weakness: family. [Yes,Clary counts in a non-sister way]. And who goes by Bones? Trying too hard to be a badass, if you ask me. Jac doesn’t TRY, he just IS.

As for Bones being part of a slutty book, if you had read both series, you would realise that the Immortal Instruments is a young adult series and the Night Huntress series is an adult romance. They’re marketed to audiences of very different maturity levels.

4. Do not disparage the authors. You can dislike the characters, the books, etc., but don’t make any attacks toward the authors. Both Jeaniene Frost and Cassandra Clare are talented.
Also, I will remind everyone that the Night Huntress series is for adults and the sex in all of Jeaniene Frost’s novels is for plot purposes. Sure, it’s hot. But it’s about enhancing the bond between Cat and Bones, illustrating trust and usually affects later plot points.
You’re welcome to dislike the characters, but Jeaniene Frost is a remarkable talent and she doesn’t put anything into her novels without a purpose.

Uhh, Jace has been BROUGHT UP to kill vampires, and creatures WAY worse. Not to mention, he’s got the Angel’s blood, so he’s got reflexes, speed, and physical endurance far beyond that of any normal person. He exceeds those of his own RACE easily! He’s been TRAINED into an avenging angel – hands down, he’d win. 😉

To make my argument for Bones: He is over 240 years old. He is a Master Vampire which means he has all the major advantages of a vampire speed, agility, strength, site, smell, endurance etc. as well as fly, read minds (of humans or half breeds Jace ;)) and take creatures down with his bare hands! He is also super sexy and full of life. Great sense of humor but still a sensitive man when it comes to his friends and his Kitten. I gotta gice this one to my man BONES!!! 🙂

It seems Bones and Jace are actually quite similar… from what I’m reading, anyway :P. Both trained to kill, both really witty in their comments, both sexy, and both sensitive. This is going to be a good round!

Its a great arguement but Bones is also trained to kill Vampires and has been doing so for over 200 yrs. Bones is an immortal assassinwhich mean he is a damn good killer. After 200 yrs of being the best you are better then even the best 17 yr old.

The older generations set the standards for the younger generations to exceed them ;). 200 years can mean nothing to skills that have been developed to be on par with the best. From what I know of Jace, he exceeds what people believe is impossible. I guess there really isn’t a way to tell who’d win, but I’m optimistic in Jace’s character and abilities :).
While that’s all fine and well, but we’re talking about Jace and Bones so just stop talking about Dean!

I voted for Bones. Why? Because I have not read both series, nothing against Ms Clare, I don’t read YA books because most the time the heroes and heroines are suffering from a heavy dose of Angst. Bones and Cat have angst, but most of the time it revolves around “I hope we can pull this off and not die. And by the way, I love you.” So while I am sure Jace is a fine character, I voted for Bones.

Its got nothing to do with heaven and hell or living and dead it comes down to experience and skill. And Bones has 200 more years of badass then Jace. The description’s bias! Why does Bones’s imply that he’s better than Jace and all that… The way he can beat him.. While in Jace it states nothing about beating Bones.. Only his damn good looks? NOT FAIR.
Champions were allowed to include smack talk if they wanted. The descriptions are meant to be persuasive. Each side is trying to win you over — one went with smack talk, the other didn’t. (Click back through the earlier battles, and you’ll see the variation.)

Jace has been through a lot. He was taken as a child and locked up. His father was evil. He was trained to be hurt. He was trained to not love anyone. Everyone he loved was meant to be killed. He was trained to kill. He was trained to fight. To hate. When he finally found someone whom he can love and open up to, he found out that he was HER BROTHER. then a twist happened. His brother was killed. He died, and he was brought back to life. He found out that his evil father wasn’t his real one, and that his parents were burned and murdered. He’s adopted. He loved his evil father, despite all the hard things he had done to him…. Will you survive his life if you were in his shoes? Doubt it.
Ok going that route. Bones was birthed to a teenage whore and rasied in a whore house. Had to pick pocket and steal to eat. Then his mother died he had to become a whore aswell to ensure he had a place to sleep but still had tostealto eat and cover his living expenses. Then was caught and thrown on a ship to the penal collonies which he nearly died on. Once there he was beaten starved and worked like a mule for years until he actually did lose his life and was turned into a vampire against his will. He woke up in a bone yard (how he chose his name) after killing people he never wanted to harm and becoming something he never wanted to be. Then he spent well over 200 yrs alone for the most part andlearning to kill bad guys because it paid the bills and it was all he thought he was good at. Needless to say they both servived what most wouldnt. Bones is the 240 yr old verson of Jace to a point. Both amazing at what they do just Bones has had a hell of a lot longer to perfect his skill.
